OPENWEIGHT CHAMPION: ICHABOD THRASHER

The Openweight Title was introduced in August 2023 as a mid-card championship and is used to celebrate the varying wrestling styles amongst the 5LW roster. The Title is typically defended every 3-4 weeks.

Jack McGrath found himself in the fortunate position of fighting for both the Openweight and Brass Knuckles Titles in the same match despite only being the mandatory challenger for the latter, when Brass Knuckles Champion Ryan Samuels and Openweight Champion AJ Rivera insisted on settling their rivalry, setting up a three way dance for both belts, where Patient Zero was ultimately victorious.

Ichabod Thrasher picked up his first singles title on ironically the same night he lost his first Tag Title. It was a long wait from his Number One contender match to finally challenging for the belt, but he took full advantage of a wounded Jack McGrath to write his name in the history books, as another big name was added to the young legend's resume.

2 weeks on from their interrupted title match, at the request of champion Thrasher himself, Romero and Thrasher re-entered the ring as they've done so many times over by now. This time around a brutal no disqualification match ended in Romero submitting Thrasher to become the second Triple Crown champion in Five Lakes history. In a gesture of goodwill, he immediately extended the offer of a rematch the following week to the former champion.
