What are their views on cheating? Donovan will NOT cheat
What are their views on teaming with others? Donovan is wary of teaming with someone that he doesn’t know well
A few strengths.. Deceptively agile - For a man of his size, he can move with the speed and athleticism of a cruiserweight.
Martial Arts Background - has a Third Degree Black Belt in Aikido
A few weaknesses.. Arrogance - Has a very high opinion of himself, and tends to get frustrated when things don’t go his way.
Stubborn - He’ll keep after something, even if it means putting himself at risk. Which brings us to…
Reckless - High risk, high reward has been his motto since day one
Favourite weapon(s): No particular favorites
Favourite match types: Donovan prefers to go it alone in the ring. He loves any type of match where he can use his strengths to his advantage, with a particular fondness for bar-room and backstage brawls; really, anywhere that he can make full use of his surroundings. A creative fighter, he can and will use whatever he can get his hands on if need be. However, he has a strong moral code, and NEVER cheats.
In keeping with his “Lone Wolf” tendencies, he rarely takes part in tag team competition. He does respect the idea of strength in numbers, however he will only take part when he’s left with no other option. He’s stubborn; not stupid.
Wrestling Style(s): Dononvan is a heavy hitter with a background in martial arts. However, he is also unusually agile for a man of his size, so he also incorporates a number of aerial moves into his repertoire.
Finisher(s): 1. Titanfall (Pumphandle Facebuster)
2. Hostile Takeover (Hell’s Gate)
Signature Moves: 1. Senton Bomb
2. Crucifix Powerbomb
3. Vertical Suplex Side Slam
Common Moves: 1. Suplex and variations
2. Spinebuster and variations
3. Repeated strikes to the body
4. Kneeling Back Elbow followed by a Kneelift
5. Various Kicks after Top Rope Backflip
6. Moonsault (standing, top rope, and slingshot)
7. Clothesline and variations
8. Headbutt
Known Relationships (allies/enemies): Danielle Basch (wife)
Damon Graves (family friend)
Aurora Graves (family friend)
Personality summary: In casual conversation, Donovan is very well-spoken. While his wife’s vocabulary is slightly (read “compared to Donovan, she cusses like a sailor”) more colorful, he rarely utters anything stronger than “damn” unless he’s really pushed. Even then, he does his best to show restraint. Oftentimes, however, he does appear to be a bit - as his wife would put it - “stuffy.”
Outside of wrestling, he keeps to himself for the most part. His wife is by far the more sociable half of the couple, but to those that his wife considers to be friends, he is at least cordial, if not friendly. He is quiet and reserved, though his wife has brought him out of his shell a little. Nevertheless, his inner circle is small, and he would just as soon keep it that way.
Is VERY particular about his coffee.
Brief Bio/Backstory: Donovan Basch has led what most people would consider a charmed life. Blessed with both genetic and intellectual gifts, anything he set his mind to, he met with success. Equally at home in the classroom or on the athletic field, he garnered praise for his skills, mixed with concerns about his growing arrogance. With several scholarship offers available to him, he had his pick of universities in which to enroll, eventually "deigning" to attend Harvard University, where he majored in Business Administration along with a minor in Computer Science. After graduating summa cum laude, and subsequently obtaining a "small loan" from his well-to-do father, Donovan carved out his own "little slice of the American Dream", building up a multi-million dollar enterprise with a blend of business acumen and a ruthlessness that drew both admiration and nervousness from his peers in the realm of Big Business.
But Donovan's success in business simply wasn't enough for him. One thing that Harvard didn't teach was how to deal with the boredom that eventually set in. Hostile takeovers of rival entities didn't satisfy him anymore. It struck him that wrestling would be just the thing to pull him out of his ennui. During a stint in the now-defunct West Coast Genesis, he met his now-wife Danielle Basch (neé LeBlanc), and went on to win the promotion’s top tier championship. After that promotion closed down, he joined Red Sun Wrestling, where an injury to his arm put him on the sidelines for a few months. Upon his return, he continued working his way up the rankings, but business outside of wrestling prompted him to depart the company, which closed down soon after.
He used the downtime to focus on his family and his various business ventures, but lately, the desire to return to action in some form or another has grown too strong to ignore. Once again, he seeks to show the world that whether it’s in the ring or in the boardroom, Donovan Basch is all business.
