LIVE! From Philadelphia: Night 2
Monday 15th April
IN THE RING
Marisol Vilaro came out to open the show and promoted her brand on her continuous tour of North America. She said she had been warmly received by people in Philadelphia, presumably due to the fact they were lacking in role models or people to look up to. Indie Legends' music then hit and she came out to a mixed reception, albeit most people were cheering for her in her hometown. She trash talked Vilaro and said she couldn't wait to take her belt off her, in front of her own people, and shut her up. Callie Renton then came out and offered her thoughts. The cheer was huge for Callie, and she let it go on for some time, which angered Indie and Vilaro. She asked Indie why she seemed to get a bigger cheer than her in her own city? Indie said when she's done with Vilaro she will happily beat Renton again. Callie decided she was going to sit at ringside for this one, because whoever comes through with the belt will have her calling them out each and every week until she gets a shot. The Brat Princess needs a crown.
NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH
Marisol Vilaro (c) v Indie Legends
Vilaro’s looked very self assured but was surprised to find Indie an equal match for her athleticism and penchant for dirty tactics, as this quickly evolved into a battle of mind games and trying to out do one another. Renton watched on from the commentary booth, as Indie came impressively close to her first title here but Vilaro stole victory from the jaws of defeat with the Crunch Time (Natural Selection) to reclaim the title. A close fight between two up and coming wrestlers.
Winner: Marisol Vilaro (Still North American Champion)
BACKSTAGE
Kore Violet is with Colin Moriarty inside their locker room. Kore is pacing back and forth, preparing for her match. Moriarty says he didn't get the job done a few weeks ago, but if it had been one on one, and Romero wasn't in the way, he would be Undisputed Champion now. But that was in the past, he would set his sights on something else, because Kore was getting her title back tonight. Kore agreed. The Reckless Era was coming to an end. Vanessa was finally going to join Bite Club.
SINGLES MATCH
Ginny Kayl v Juno Butler
Debuting Juno was an instant hit with the fans, her bright hair and tattoos an easy watch for most as she over powered Kayl in the early stages. But Ginny weathered this storm well to secure her first win with an Exclamation Mark (450 splash).
Winner: Ginny Kayl
IN THE RING
General Manager Nigel Phillips was out. He thanked the fans and made some announcements for the coming weeks. After tonight they would be embarking on a 6 week tour of Indiana, where at some stage every single belt will be defended. Some more than once. He would announce those matches later in the week but promised them some new faces would be appearing in the Undisputed Title scene. Whatever happens tonight, the next challenger, or challengers, will be wrestlers that have not yet fought for the Undisputed Title. Reckless and Kore will forever be the flag bearers, and no doubt tonight will not be the last of their rivalry, but it was time to see if the likes of Tiffany Lynn Page, perhaps, can cut at the top level. This was met with a predictable chorus of jeers. Maybe Alejandro Rivera would be a worthy contender, he asked? This too was met with negative vibes. Phillips laughed. Let’s see how things play out, he said. Maybe he'll let the fans decide.
SINGLES MATCH
Arsyn Next v Myra Rivers
Myra’s record in singles matches here doesn’t quite correspond to her overall career successes, and the Tag Team champion was eager to put that right with a dominant win over a potential challenger for the belts she holds with Chelsea LeClair. Next came at her with all the youthful exuberance and energy she expected but she was alert to everything that came her way and wrapped this up with ease inside the five minute mark with a River Driver (Spanish Fly).
Winner: Myra Rivers
IN THE RING
Flynn Howell is out now. He says the lineup tonight is lacking the star power that Night 1 had and he felt bad that these fans had been charged the same price as the ones who got to see him and his family wrestle. He also wanted to apologise to the fans that came that night, as they too were short changed when he was injured in the ring. The crowd began to hurl abuse but he ignored it. He said thankfully for everyone he was fine now, and ready to take on Gabriel Landry for the Junior Heavyweight Title. He didn't know when that was going to be, but based on what Nigel Phillips said earlier, it was obviously going to happen in Indiana. Sean Parker's music then hit and out came the King of the Skies to a huge cheer. Flynn didn't look too pleased that he had interrupted his mic time. Parker wasn't in ring gear, but he said that didn't matter. He said maybe Flynn would want to put on a show for these fans and fight him tonight. Flynn said that's not an option. Serenity Holmes had callously injured him the other night, and even though his shoulder felt fine, the doctor had instructed him to stay out the ring for a few more days as a precaution. Parker had a feeling he might say that, and even though he wasn't booked tonight he came down to speak with Nigel Phillips anyway. Like Flynn, Parker also wants to throw his hat back in the ring for the Junior Heavyweight Title. But he also had an idea for a match up in Indiana, seeing as Flynn will be fit to wrestle again at that point. So he's just had it confirmed that the Red Lock Legion will take on himself, Griffin Hawkins and Serenity Holmes in a Trios match very soon. Flynn scowled momentarily but quickly switched to his usual bravado. He said the the fans will love to see him and his family victorious in the ring together, bring it on.
SINGLES MATCH
Donovan Basch v Andrew Garrison
Donovan and his wife Danielle arrived in the Five Lakes with impressive resumes, and without even trying seem to have won a large portion of the fans over in these first few matches. Tonight was never going to be easy against former Television Champion Garrison, but Basch put on a slick performance that would have no doubt put people on notice, seeing it out with a Titanfall (Pumphandle Facebuster).
Winner: Donovan Basch
BACKSTAGE
Undisputed Champion Vanessa Reckless was backstage with Emma Harrington. She was calm and composed despite the huge match up she had later in the night. Emma reminded her that not only was she finally facing Kore Violet, her long time rival, the woman she beat to claim her title, but a win tonight meant she would be the longest reigning champion of any belt in Five Lakes Wrestling history. Nessa said this didn’t surprise her. She intended to break all the records along the way. This was just the beginning of the Reckless Era. After tonight she would probably look at adding MORE titles to her collection. Maybe her and Rowen would take the Tag Titles. They had thought about it for a while now and both agreed they’d look good on them. Maybe she’ll come for Jack McGrath and his two belts. Or maybe she’ll beat Silas Romero again if he wins the TV Title. Whatever she wants she will take it. Watch this space.
SINGLES MATCH
Ryn Ruin v Chelse LeClair
Much like Rivers, LeClair was looking to reignite her singles career here after an impressive defence of their Tag Titles last time out. And again, much like Rivers, this was a comprehensive victory, showcasing her appealing style from bell to bell. An Ocean City Crusher (Hurricanrana Driver) was enough to see this home as she picked up her title and celebrated with the fans on her way to the back.
Winner: Chelsea LeClair
IN THE RING
Emma Harrington welcomes out Jack McGrath for a sit down interview following his spectacular double-title win the other night. McGrath comes out to a relatively negative reception and sits down with his belts draped over both shoulders. Emma congratulates him, but McGrath is subdued. He doesn't think congratulations are in order. This is his job, and this is what he does. He sets his mind on a goal and he achieves it. Emma reiterates that he beat two talented men to achieve this goal. Jack said people will get hurt along the way. Many others will fall, it is what it is. Emma changed the conversation to get his thoughts on who might challenge for his championships. She said there were a number of people potentially vying for the Openweight belt. Andrew Raynes, for instance. McGrath said Raynes was about as good as they come. He does what he needs to do and he respects that, but he doesn't have it in him to beat Jack McGrath. Griffin Hawkins was surely in line for a shot at his former title? McGrath shrugged. Hawkins offered nothing for him to be concerned about. What about Jessi Osborne? She's set her sights on singles success now, and when she does that it usually happens. Again, McGrath was dismissive. Osborne has won many titles, but she's never been in the ring with someone like himself. These other belts, in her other companies, will not prepare her for an event like this. Harrington was keen to know what his thoughts were on Kimberley Williams? This leads to a huge cheer, as the fans began chanting her name. Before McGrath could answer Emma said that there had been a campaign online for her to be the first person to challenge you for the Brass Knuckles title. The fans believe she represents everything that belt is about. McGrath sneered. He had beaten Williams once and didn't care to do it again, but he would if necessary. Harrington added that she is known a woman of many weapons, and would set this division on fire. McGrath responded that this isn't about TV ratings or talking to pretend animals. This was about winning, however you need to do it. He didn't need a corny gimmick to become a champion. He could win with his fists alone. The crowd were on his back now but he didn't seem to care, as he gave one final message. Whether they come for his Openweight Title, or the Brass Knuckles, or both at once, the outcome will be the same. The worst it yet to come.

TELEVISION TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
The Rogues Gallery (c) v Salavea Twins
The Rogues Gallery don’t say a lot, and neither do the Salavea Twins these days, but some people do their talking in the ring and after a solid back and forth the Rogues retained with some neat wrestling moves.
Winners: The Rogues Gallery (Still Television Tag Team Title Champions)
BACKSTAGE
Myra Rivers and Chelsea LeClair are backstage for an interview. They were delighted with their wins after both incurring singles defeats last time out on their own. The TRIOCS would no doubt have been a future opponent for their belts but at this stage they've proved they are level above. Harrington asked who might come to the fore and challenge? They said it wasn't for them to decide. The Midnight Demon Club were mentioned, along with #CouplesGoals as well as Kore Violet and Colin Moriarty. We're prepared for whoever comes our way they said. Just then Flynn Howell appears. He said he knows EXACTLY who is going to be challenge for those belts, the Red Lock Legion! Everyone has seen by now how superior they are as singles wrestlers, and pretty soon the entire roster will see how great they are as a team too, when they dismantle Parker, Holmes and Hawkins. After that, they'll be in pole position to challenge for those belts. Rivers and LeClair just looked at one another with a wry smile. Good luck, they said, I think you're going to need it.

NO HOLDS BARRED
Andrew Raynes v Kanaka Mauna
Raynes and Mauna came face to chest in the middle of the ring as this intriguing match up got underway. As expected Rayes found life difficult initially as Mauna overpowered him. But Raynes began to work away on the big man's knee, gradually wearing him down to the ground. Once he was down he didn't let up, pounding away at his leg and head with several chairs, as each one became bent beyond use through the hard hitting shots to his giant meat head. It was brutal, as Raynes continued the punishment like a man on a rampage, ensuring that when he finally was ready to pin him he was going to stay down. Eventually Mauna lay on his back, barely conscious, as he hooked the leg. The giant had been slayed, as Raynes headed to the back looking to get things off his chest.
Winner: Andrew Raynes
BACKSTAGE
Raynes was backstage after his match up. He said it was time for Nigel Phillips to put his money where his mouth is. Him and Duke were going to win the Television Tag Team Titles next week. Frank James had given them that opportunity and it was selfishly taken away from them. Now he has no where to turn, just like he won’t have anywhere to turn next week when they set foot in the ring over in the NAWL. Him AND Duke been held back too long, this was the opportunity they deserved, and they intended to take it. This is just the beginning.
SINGLES MATCH
Gwen Margolis v Noa Skye
Former Tag Team champion Margolis has an impressive singles record in the Five Lakes, and after temporarily parting ways with her Uncle she has set her sights on solo success. Noa herself has one eye on the tag division, ironically, and with her partner Romero in action later for the Television Title, this offered a great opportunity to showcase her abilities and make a push towards an opportunity for those belts. Margolis was hungry for the win here, and intent on picking up where she left off with impressive wins against Myra Rivers and Chelsea LeClair, but this one didn't quite go to plan, as an attempted crossface got somehow reversed into a cutter, allowing Noa to pick her up a first singles win.
Winner: Noa Skye
TELEVISION TITLE MATCH
Tater (c) v Silas Romero
Fan favourite Tater has won the hearts and minds of everyone lately, including some female Philadelphia fans it would appear as one or two pairs of underwear were tossed in his direction en route to the ring, but as always he was strictly business once he stepped through he ropes. And he needed to be as the remarkable Silas Romero sets his sights on singles gold after coming up short in a recent quest for the Undisputed Championship. Tater, arguably the most popular Television Champion to date, came rushing out the traps at Romero, who didn’t know what had hit him at first. But a hard-hitting brawl ensued as these two out each other through the wringer, pounding one another into the canvas with suplexes and powerslams before Romero finally found a breakthrough to gain the upper hand, and secure the win for a great night for the Midnight Demon Club.
Winner: Silas Romero (New Television Champion)
MAIN EVENT
UNDISPUTED TITLE MATCH
Vanessa Reckless (c) v Kore Violet
It was finally here. Vanessa Reckless and Kore Violet one on one inside a Five Lakes Wrestling ring. The only two people to have held the Undisputed Championship stood facing one another before this much anticipated encounter. Both revered by fans alike, yet no one could take their eyes off this Main Event. It was the match they and everybody else had wanted for months and months and as the bell rang it got immediately underway. It was brutal, bloody and the carnage spilled over into the crowd and around the commentary booth as Kore tried choking Reckless with the various chords and wires she could get a hold of. The violence didn’t end their though as Nessa slammed her rival against the metal post and into the ring steps. Kore kicked out of the Reckless Mask (Curb Stomp) and miraculously pulled out a Slingblade from the second turnbuckle but it wasn’t enough. They battled back and forth some twenty minutes until finally Vanessa finally sealed it with not one, but two Double Knee Backbreakers after Kore kicked out the first time around. She slung her belt back over her shoulder and looked down at her beaten rival. Whether she chose to admit it or not, this had taken a lot out of her, as she made her way to the top of the ramp and lifted her belt in the air. The Reckless Era continues.
Winner: Vanessa Reckless (Still Undisputed Champion)
