LIVE! From Kalamazoo
Sunday 6th August
The show started with Khloe Bell and AJ Rivera coming out to the ring. Bell gloated about her win last week, describing it is the obvious outcome. Her and Rivera were there to clean up in 5LW and this was the first step. Tiffany Lynn Page then came out onto the entrance ramp. She said it was pathetic they had to team up and deny her of winning the title. Page demanded a one on one match to show who the real champion was, but Bell wasn’t sure if she deserved it. But since Page seemed so keen to get her hands on her man, she would give her a chance. If Page could beat Rivera next week she’d give her a shot at the title. If not, get to the back of the line. Page seemed happy with the outcome as Rivera stared her down.
Khloe Bell v Sally Lambert
This was a thrilling match up. Bell was unusually respectful towards Lambert, albeit flaunting her North American Title to rile the fans beforehand. You could barely separate them throughout, pushing one another to higher limits. Lambert was adamant she had the match won after an impressive Lionsault, but the Referee said no, saying Bell got the shoulder up just in time. It was controversial to say the least as Lambert jumped to her feet in protest but the Refs decision was final. Bell didn’t hang around though and rolled her opponent up with a Small Package when she least expected it. Holding on for dear life the Ref made a quick three count and declared her the winner. Lambert couldn’t believe what had happened as Bell rolled out the ring and shrugged her shoulders, raising her belt high in the air and staring back at her.
Winner: Khloe Bell
Frank James came out from the back carrying two briefcases. He hyped the crowd a bit before revealing a first glance at the Undisputed Championship from one of the cases. He said as this was the most coveted prize in the company. Therefore, he would keep a close eye on each match to determine who he believed should compete for the belt in the coming weeks. He then opened the other case to reveal two matching Tag Team Titles. He said he was in talks to bring several exciting teams to 5LW and promised a thriving Tag division very soon. Those already on the roster would obviously be welcome to compete, although he hadn’t seen many ‘blossoming friendships’ leading up to now.
Tiffany Lynn Page v Patti Rose
The debuting Rose came bursting out from the back and ran straight in the ring to pounce on Page as the crowd went wild. The first few minutes were an onslaught as Rose made light work of her, but Page was no rookie herself and overturned an attempted Lou Thesz Press to swing things in her favour. She didn’t need long before locking on the Resting Bitch Face (Cobra Clutch) to make Patti tap.
Winner: Tiffany Lynn Page
Jay Sinclair was backstage with Emma Harrington. He was disappointed in not winning the title last week but knew the odds were against him with Rivera and Bell working in tandem. He didn't hold grudges though, he'd been in the business long enough to know how things work, and promised the cream would rise to the top. Tonight he would prove what he was about and that he was worthy of a shot at the Undisputed Title.
Kore Violet v Iida Matsuda v Billie Garner
Kore Violet was looking for a debut win, while Matsuda and Garner needed to overcome disappointing defeats the previous week. Garner and Violet seemed to make a pact early on and worked away on Matsuda. With The Emerald Queen out of the equation they turned on each other as Violet looked set to win with a Slingblade from the second turnbuckle she calls The Lost. But Matsuda reappeared from nowhere and took her out with a Spinning Heel Kick. Violet stumbled to the outside as Matsuda dropped to cover Garner and steal the win.
Winner: Iida Matsuda
Violet though, wasn’t satisfied or content with the outcome and rolled back under the ropes to attack Matsuda from behind. A Russian Legsweep to a Ground Octopus Hold, whilst biting a poor helpless Matsuda. Eventually she let up, exiting the ring with a satisfied grin.
MAIN EVENT
AJ Rivera v Jay Sinclair
Sinclair and Rivera circled one another, sizing each other up again following last weeks encounter. After locking up it was a good mix of technical wrestling and physicality. Sinclair, the more experienced of the two, found himself on top but Rivera fought back on every occasion. Suddenly there was an audible cheer as a furious Kanaka Mauna appeared on the rampway. Sinclair looked up and waved his finger telling him not to enter but it was too late. Mauna was hurtling down the ramp at 100 miles per hour. He barged past Sinclair and went straight to Rivera as the Referee tried to get a handle on things. Sinclair pulled the giant around for confrontation but there was not talking to him, and a few moments later they were trading blows themselves. Rivera got a second wind as a three way brawl broke out. Officials came running from out the back to separate them as the night came to an abrupt close.
Winner: AJ Rivera (by disqualification)
