LIVE! From Lafayette
Monday 13th May
The night kicked off with a run down of recent events, notably the Television and Television Tag Title wins for Silas Romero, Andrew Raynes and Duke Andrews. The commentators hyped the four qualifiers for the inaugural Seize the Moment match next week in Richmond before the opening bout got underway.
SEIZE THE MOMENT QUALIFIER
Gabriel Landry v Colin Moriarty
The first of four qualifiers ahead of next week's Ladder match saw Junior Heavyweight champion Landry take on former Undisputed Title contender Moriarty. Moriarty couldn’t keep up with Landry's pace to begin with but in the end his power shone through and an evenly fought contest was decided with a COLINOSCOPHY (Electric Chair Driver).
Winner: Colin Moriarty (Advances to Seize the Moment match)
BACKSTAGE
Emma Harrington was backstage with a crowd of fans. 'Kimmymaniacs' in fact. They’d travelled from all corners of the country to see Kimberley Williams, aka the Peoples Brass Knuckles Champion, as they call her. Emma asked them about the actual Brass Knuckles Champion but there was no love for McGrath. He was a 'joyless individual' that did nothing for the fans. Kim is the Queen of the Deathmatch and leads this division in their eyes, without or without the title.
SINGLES MATCH
Gothica v Danielle Basch
Basch suffered a controversial defeat last time out against Indie Legends but made sure there was no repeat this time around with a fine display, finishing off a largely one sided bout with the Boot-a-Rang (540 Roundhouse kick). Danielle celebrated with the fans then looked into the camera to ask who's next?
Winner: Danielle Basch
BACKSTAGE
Flynn Howell is walking through the backstage area. Boos can be heard in the distance. He knocks on the door of Nigel Phillips and goes in without waiting. Phillips doesn’t appreciate the disrespect but lets him speak. He wants to know why he’s got to be beat (Serenity) Holmes again, and (Zara) Walker who he probably beat before but can’t remember and even if he didn’t she stole his place for the Junior Heavyweight Title shot and lost, so to face her now was an insult. Phillips laughed to himself at his hubris but Flynn wasn’t in a joking mood. He said he probably had earned a shot at the Junior Heavyweight Title by this point. And he’ll get that shot next week! But if he loses tonight the winner will be joining him, so it’s up to him to ensure he wins to make it one on one. Flynn said that was never in doubt.
SEIZE THE MOMENT QUALIFIER
Scarlett Howell v Gwen Margolis
The second qualifier of the night saw former Tag Team Champion Margolis take on Red Lock Legion's Scarlett. Margolis had an impressive track record in single competition before temporarily splitting with her partner and Uncle, but has failed to find that form since going her own way. Tonight she did everything but get the win, dominating the fight from start to finish until a minor mistake allowed Scarlett in. From there she cleverly stayed on top and wrapped it up with a Scarlett Letter (Cradle DDT). Gwen was left shaking her head, wondering how she'd let this lead slip.
Winner: Scarlett Howell (Advances to Seize the Moment match)
IN THE RING
Marisol Vilaro is out to greet her ‘fans’, as usual. She delivers lots of backhanded insults to the crowd and urges them to better themselves and be more like her and Gabe when she’s once again interrupted by Callie Renton. Vilaro sighs. Callie hypes the crowd a bit and says Vilaro can show them all how inspirational she is with a title match right now if she likes? Mari refuses though. Tonight she is going to beat one half of the Undisputed Tag Team AND the Undisputed singles champion. Then every one will have to declare the North American Title the premier championship in Five Lakes Wrestling and she will truly inspire everyone that interacts with the show. Renton figured she’d say that, and says she’s right to focus on her match. So she’s been to see the General Manager Nigel Phillips and spelt it out to him. She wants Mari one on one for her belt. And she got an answer. The crowd are hyped and she keeps them waiting, including Vilaro who doesn’t seem amused. Next week it's going to be and you one on one, for the North American Championship! The crowd cheer this time, as Renton exits leaving Vilaro looking furious.
SEIZE THE MOMENT QUALIFIER
TATER v Donovan Basch
These two heavyweights were eager to get back to winning ways after disappointments last time out. A golden opportunity for them both was at stake and they duly delivered, throwing everything they could at one another in this contender for match of the night. Basch hit the Titanfall (Pumphandle Facebuster) and unbelievably Tater kicked out. Tater started fighting back and was moments away from sealing a fine comeback with a sit out Powerbomb but Basch reversed it to hit another Titanfall (Pumphandle Facebuster), just as he was about to finish the match off Tater somewhoe broke free and landed that Powerbomb to secure the win.
Winner: Tater (Advances to Seize the Moment match)
BACKSTAGE
‘The Midwest Nightmare’ Ryan Samuels is standing by with Emma Harrington. He’s got a message for “Lil Papi” AJ Rivera. It’s simple really. If he’s gunning for the Undisputed Title then so is he. That shiny belts gonna look good round his waist, he said. He didn’t even know who the champion was but he was gonna find out he and/or she was and beat their ass. HOT DAMN!
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Heathen Jones v Andrew Garrison v Jack McGrath
Double champion McGrath gets two opponents in former Television Champion Garrison and the debuting Heathen Jones as these three heavyweights beat one another senseless around the ring. Garrison tried early on to land an illegal chair shot but Jones thwarted him with a kick to the midsection. Garrison looked set to pull off an impressive win later on but Jones intervened with the same chair, whacking it around his head before he could potentially pin McGrath. He left the ring with Hickey to a chorus of abuse soon after.
Winner: Andrew Garrison (by disqualification)
BACKSTAGE
Kimberley Williams and Mikaela Callaway are backstage for interview. They have several weapons on hand ready for their match, including Wasley, the infinity gauntlet and a big box of Lego. Midway through the interview Sally Lambert and Juno Butler come passing through. They also have their hands full of obscure foreign objects, including a car door, some nunchucks and a bowl of spaghetti. The four girls stand still momentarily eye balling one another, before a brief nod and smile as they each go on their way.
SEIZE THE MOMENT QUALIFIER
Corsen Howell v Ginny Kayl
With Scarlett already through earlier in the night this was a huge opportunity for the Red Lock Legion to secure 50% of the contenders in the Seize the Moment ladder match. These two came across each other once previous in a Battle Royal for a shot at the Television Title when Corsen surprised everyone, emerging from her brothers shadow and promptly announcing herself as a contender in her own right. Ginny has had mixed fortunes throughout her time here but has championed herself to claim this vacant prize from the moment it was announced. Unsurprisingly these two were a great match for one another, twisting and turning the other inside out and back again. Corsen tried on a number of occasions to surprise Kayl with some sneaky pinfalls when she least expected it, using the ropes to her advantage on at least a couple of occasions. Thankfully for Kayl the Referee was on point tonight to spit the infringements and the match resumed but it was Ginny who had the last laugh over her young counterpart, rolling up Corsen when she was complaining and holding her down just long enough to secure the one, two, three. Corsen wasn’t best pleased but played it cool, shaking her head in disbelief as Kayl made her way to the back to a huge cheer.
Winner: Ginny Kayl (Advances to Seize the Moment match)
BACKSTAGE
Tinsley Nolan is with Emma Harrington now. She hasn’t been seen for a while but plays it down. She’s back now, and ready to pick up where she left off. Tonight is about blowing off the cobwebs and proving she has what it takes to be a champion. She’s going to earn those opportunities and make up for lost time. Winning a five person match is difficult, but she’ll be leaving her mark with a big return performance.
TAG TEAM MATCH: HARDCORE RULES
Kimberley Williams & Mikaela Callaway v Lambert & Butler
All four women entered the ring carrying bags of mysterious foreign objects as the match got underway. Lambert was first to reveal a weapon, pulling out a ukulele and wrapping it around the head of Callaway. Butler then followed suit with a set of symbols on Williams, either side of her head. The Queens of Chaos battled back though and soon got their revenge with the infinity gauntlet to the face of Sally and a double powerbomb on Juno to a canvas full of lego. This one went back and forth for some time but an Adrenaline Rush (450 Splash) from Mikaela, onto a chair, dealt the final blow, after Williams had delivered a face full of Wasley to both opponents.
Winners: Kimberley Williams and Mikaela Callaway
OUTSIDE
The cameras go outside the arena parking lot. In the distance we see a light...it looks to be a light coming from a Motorcycle. The rider cannot be seen as he's dressed from head to toe in black leather. A black motorcycle helmet adorns his head as he pulls up towards the camera man. He stops his Harley and steps off, looking towards the camera as he slowly takes off the helmet, revealing himself.
Griffin Hawkins: Were you expecting someone else?...
He lets out a small chuckle, putting his helmet aside.
Griffin Hawkins: Sorry I'm late...did a little riding across the city Lafayette. Just thought I'd take in the surroundings before I make a little trip here to fight one hell of a battle. To anyone wondering, my mission remains clear to regain the Openweight Title. Just because Aleandro Rivera didn't have the balls to give me a rematch for the belt..knowing I'd beat his ass and take it from him like I've done before..only for him to shit the bed and lose it to Jack McGrath weeks later doesn't change my focus. But before I get there, I got some debts to collect. And it all begins with tonight's Triple Threat Match.
He unloosens his leather gloves.
Griffin Hawkins: Let's start with the obvious suspect. Everyone's favorite dumbass cowboy Ryan Samuels. He's been getting in my business since the day I came to this company. It pisses him off that I see right through his tough guy act. In fact...he's never put me down on his own. He always had help from Rivera because he knows that face to face without interference I would whoop his ass. Right now, shit needs to get settled between me and him. I'm not interested in making an ass out of him social media, that's like clubbing a baby seal. I want to beat him straight up in the ring. I want to see if he is really...REALLY..as badass as he says he is, or is he just another phony tough guy putting on an act. But his mind...seems elsewhere..
He strokes his chin as he walks.
Griffin Hawkins: He seems to be busy with his never ending obsession with Kanaka Mauna. He has Kanaka on the brain so much he's just NOW finding out that I'm in this match? See...I always known Samuels was stupid, but I didn't think it was this bad. He seems to be too focused on this dick measuring contest with Mauna that he's overlooking me. Do I feel disrespected? No. You'd think I'd be upset but...I'm not. For you see, he is so hell bent on ending that giant's career that he is forgetting one of the biggest threats in this match and it ain't Kanaka. He has more than that Hawaiian beast to worry about. Because the minute he makes a mistake, that's when I will be there to lay his hillbilly ass out once again.
He pulls his gloves off, putting them in his back pocket.
Griffin Hawkins: And then we have the other opponent I mentioned. Kanaka Mauna. Up until now I really didn't have a problem with him. In fact I respected him because he was a giant who moved in ways not many big men can. All of it got washed away in a New York minute. I asked him if he could be mine and Serenity's partner..and he looked me in the eye and said yes, only for him to stab us in the back and reveal he's Flynn's partner. He could've told me straight up that he's working with the enemy. But I guess while he's also 7 feet tall...he's also spineless. If he thinks he'll get away with what he's done, then he's obviously dumber than he looks.
He looks towards the camera.
Griffin Hawkins: What's sad Kanaka...is that you don't get that you're being used. Flynn Howell doesn't care about you..all you are to him is just one big person to hide behind. I mean let's face it...that whole family can't fight their own battles, they have to rely on each other when they are in danger of getting beat. After I take you out...there's going to be nobody that's going to protect them. Now..I'm not an idiot like Samuels, I'm not going to overlook you like he seems to be doing. I realize going into this match...I'm at a huge disadvantage. You may pound me into mush, you may throw me around like a ragdoll...but keeping me down, that's going to be the hardest thing you can do. I made a career beating down guys just as big as you, and nobody has been able to put me out yet. Just because you're big..it doesn't mean it's a given that you're going to be the victor. Whether it's you...or whether it's Samuels...Somebody's gonna get rocked tonight.
He walks away from the camera....but suddenly comes back.
Griffin Hawkins: Oh...and Jack McGrath?...we'll be seeing each other again soon. So keep that belt warm for me, okay?
He smiles and winks at the camera man before walking off, closing the segment.

FIVE WAY DANCE
Noa Skye v Indie Legends v Tinsley Nolan v Kozue v Patti Rose
Five women looking to make a name for themselves and push on up the ladder. Noa has her sights set on Tag Team glory with partner Silas, while Indie looks to continue the momentum of her win over Danielle Basch in Evansville. Tinsley makes a return to the ring after a brief spell out, as the debuting Kozue will be aiming to steal a march on the rest of the locker room. Patti will be there too, hair on point as always. Kozue, trained by former Tag Team champion Jessi Ozborne was a revelation early on, taking out the entire field momentarily, but Nolan quickly fired back with her Star Shine (Shining Wizard). Noa was next with a Diving Senton, but Patti was quick to make the save. Brief allegiances were formed as they tried to wear one another down before turning on each other, although Indie had other ideas, stalking her prey on the outside for the opportune moment. Just as Nolan was about to secure a great comeback win she launched her over the ropes and onto the outside before pinning Patti to steal an intelligent, albeit potentially undeserved, victory.
Winner: Indie Legends
BACKSTAGE
Silas Romero is on hand for interview. He’s asked about his opponent Ichabod Thrasher and welcomes the challenge. It takes a lot to get his respect but Thrasher might have that in him. Tonight we’ll see if that's case. Either way he’s making it to five defences and then he’ll decide where he goes. He’s not done with picking up championships. That’s all he came here for and now he has one more will come his way. Noa Skye came here for that reason too. The Midnight Demon Club are formally putting the tag divisions on notice from tonight. He doesn’t mind defending two titles in the same evening. Who knows, this might give him the chance to beat Kore Violet again. And her walking mayonnaise bottle, Moriarty.
TELEVISION TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
Duke Andrews & Andrew Raynes (c) v Freedom Fighters
The Freedom Fighters picked up a fine debut win and may find themselves fortunate to be given this early opportunity. But the Television Tag Team Titles were designed to throw up surprises and despite their obvious chemistry a win tonight would serve as a huge upset against the veteran combo of Raynes and Andrews. Duke started the match off and dominated Miss Liberty with his natural size and power. But he quickly became arrogant and the newcomers found themselves on top, the crowd willing them to defy the odds. It looked like a shock victory might be on the cards as they got a couple of close two counts on both their opponents but Duke managed to pull this one back in their favour and tagged Raynes back in for the finale.
Winners: Duke Andrews & Andrew Raynes (Still Television Tag Team Champions)
BACKSTAGE
Colin Moriarty was backstage with Kore Violet. They were talking about what Moriarty will do with his opportunity after he wins Seize the Moment. Maybe he’ll cash it in for Undisputed Title? Maybe they could steal the Tag Titles together? One things for sure, when the time is right he’ll make it count.
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Serenity Holmes v Flynn Howell v Zara Walker
With the announcement that a win for either Walker or Holmes would earn them a Junior Heavyweight Title shot there was an added incentive to win this by any means necessary. Flynn may not have liked the decision but the fact they both now needed to win meant the two women were less interested in working together here than they perhaps might have been. Nevertheless they enjoyed double teaming the Welshman early on, getting the crowd going with back and forth slaps to his face and chest. Eventually they turned on each other to try and secure the win. This allowed Flynn back in and he almost stole the show with a Sitout Suplex Slam on Serenity that Walker managed to disrupt in the final seconds. Walker looked set then to claim her own win on Holmes but Flynn was there to ensure she didn't, and sent her packing with a superkick to the outside. Holmes was back on her feet now and hit her a Moving Holmes (Running Shining Wizard) to her adversary. Zara rolled into the ring but was seconds too late as the count was made. Holmes climbed to her feet and stood momentarily facing her. Zara smiled and offered a fist in respect telling her to 'get the belt' and exiting the ring.
Winner: Serenity Holmes (New Number One contender to the Junior Heavyweight Title)
IN THE RING
Ryan Samuels was out first and demanded a mic. He snatched it from the announcer as his music was cut short. He’d been hanging around backstage looking at the losers around him when he had an idea. Next week he was offering an open invitational to face the next Undisputed Champion in a Bunkhouse Stampede. ‘Now I know you simple carny folk probably don’t know what a Bunkhouse Stampede is so I’ll tell ya!’ He bellowed. He went on to explain the rules, in a rather confusing and elaborate way as he often does, when essentially it’s just an over the rope battle royal, with weapons. And cowboy clothing. Although the clothing part was optional. He finished by saying he was greatest god damn Brass Knuckles champion there ever was and this will prove that too. HOT DAMN!
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Griffin Hawkins v Kanaka Mauna v Ryan Samuels
Hawkins gets an opportunity to face two men that have wronged him in recent months, while the Kanaka-Samuels rivalry gets another chapter after several years of back and forth heavyweight havoc. Samuels and Mauna went straight for another as Hawkins stood back briefly to watch. With Samuels getting the upper hand he weighed in and a three way brawl quickly ensued that had everyone on their feet. Samuels struck Hawkins with an early Lariat but the Canadian was soon back on his feet and after dodging a few more, picked up a big win with a Shot in the Dark (Superkick) on both men, pinning Mauna thereafter.
Winner: Griffin Hawkins
POST-MATCH
As Hawkins celebrated his win he noticed Jack McGrath standing at the top of the entrance ramp, glaring down at him with his one eye. It was unknown how long he’d been there but he had a mic in hand and his two title belts around his waist. Hawkins music was cut and the double champion began to speak. It mattered nothing who stood before him each week. He promised people would get hurt along the way. This was not conjecture, or empty rhetoric. Just facts. A consequence of his journey to the top of this company. That said he had seen enough from Hawkins to know that stepping in the ring together would not be a waste of time. But he would suffer the same outcome, and send a clear message to anyone else that wants to stand in his way.
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Kore Violet v Callie Renton v Chelsea LeClair
Renton and LeClair have shared the ring on several occasions, albeit side by side, while Kore gets to avenge her defeat against one half of the Tag Team champions from last time out. Unsurprisingly they worked in tandem to take down the Leader of Bite Club, before exchanging a quick fist bump and locking up. But Kore was back in within minutes and a violent back and forth ensued first with LeClair and later in Renton. LeClair looked all set to secure the win on Renton as the match wore on, but Kore swept in from under the ropes and rolled her up from behind, feet on the ropes and a fist full of tights but Chelsea managed to kick out at the last second. With both women on their feet LeClair swiftly took her down and locked on her "TTFO" (Tap The F*** Out) (Charlotte's Figure 8) in the centre of the ring. Kore cried out and was too far from the ropes. Renton was rising to her feet but Violet tapped before she break it up. LeClair refused to let go though as the bell rang out, holding on to inflict further punishment for as long as she could until the Referee eventually pulled her away.
Winner: Chelsea LeClair
CHAMPIONS SHOWCASE
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH: NON-TITLE
Vanessa Reckless v Marisol Vilaro v Myra Rivers
The Undisputed, North American and 1/2 of the Tag Team Champions all in one ring but only one could prevail as this showcase got underway. A high quality affair as expected, each woman was showing exactly why they were leading the way in this company, particularly Reckless who dominated the opening minutes. Vilaro though always had a trick up her sleeve and pulled on Myra's hair to get the upper hand. She was in control now and hit a Crunch Time (Natural Selection) on the veteran that looked a cert for the win, but Nessa was on hand to prevent it going the distance. Back and forth it went then until Rivers sprung up from nowhere to land a Rebel Bomb (Widow's Peak/Gory Special) on Vilaro for the win. Nessa, on the outside of the ring at this point, picked up her title and began to leave, shrugging her shoulders and pretending not to care, as Rivers celebrated.
Winner: Myra Rivers
HEADLINER
SINGLES MATCH
Alejandro Rivera v Tiffany Lynn Page
Both of these 5LW originals staked their claim to challenge for the Undisputed Title recently, and while his might not be a Number One contenders match, was expected to serve as a decision maker for the General Manger for who's next in line. Since then though Ryan Samuels has always thrown his big cowboy hat in the ring, as the commentators were quick to remind those watching at home. Rivera's power was too much for Page early on, but the veteran had been through this type of match many times over and weathered that early storm to worm her way back in by hook or crook. However, Rivera overturned things and just as he got himself back on top Page hit a low blow out of the Referees sight. Rivera grabbed her by the throat as the Referee demanded they start to wrestle but it was quickly interrupted by Duke Andrews. The Television Tag Champ came bombing down the rampway and entered the ring and began brawling with Rivera, as Gwen Margolis came running down shortly after to even things up before Page could make it two on one. The bell rang out signalling the end of the match as officials stormed the ring to break it all up.
Winner: No contest
MAIN EVENT
TELEVISION TITLE MATCH
Silas Romero (c) v Ichabod Thrasher
Reigning champion Romero and up and coming Thrasher offered a brief glimpse of respect before locking up for this thrilling encounter. After a night of drama and chaos it was a refreshing case of normality as they bounced back and forth between the ropes in a largely even encounter. Silas eventually got the upper hand , his experience shining through but Thrasher reversed things back in his favour with a powerslam. He hit a Brannigans Law (Double Underhook Flipping Lungblower) but Romero kicked out. The Knockout Supreme hit the The Beltsville Crucible (High Olympic Slam) following a second wind but Thrasher too was able to stay in the fight. Eventually they had to settle for honours even as the timer ran out to signal the end, much to everyone's disappointment after a thrilling encounter. Romero picked up his title and stepped through the ropes. He stood on the apron and looked back at Thrasher momentarily before exiting as the night came to a close.
Winner: Time Limit Draw (Romero retains the Television Title)
