LIVE! From Richmond: Seize the Moment
Tuesday 21st May
OPENING BOUT
OPENWEIGHT TITLE NO.1 CONTENDERS MATCH
Ichabod Thrasher v Noa Skye
Thrasher took Skye’s partner Romero to the brink of defeat last time out as a close encounter ended, frustratingly, with a time limit draw. His efforts have been rewarded though with an opportunity to face Jack McGrath or Griffin Hawkins for the Openweight Title. Noa, also looking to claim her first taste of gold, was intent on making this shot her own as she came flying out the blocks to make life difficult for the ‘young legend’. Ich started with his usual hubris but was quickly on the back foot. Once he got into the game though he looked more and more assured, securing the win with a Mass Relay (Question Mark Kick).
Winner: Ichabod Thrasher (New Openweight Title No. 1 Contender)
IN THE RING
General Manager Nigel Phillips came out to the ring to the usual mixed reception. Inside the ring were four chairs, a table and four contracts. He explained that these were contracts for an Undisputed Title match in 2 weeks time at LIVE From Indianapolis. He welcomed out the champion Vanessa Reckless first, who swaggered out the ring to torrent of abuse. Phillips joked that they might as well continue the booing for the next ten minutes. He then explained that Vanessa will be facing three different people for her title, in an elimination match. He had already promised that her opponent(s) would be people she had not yet faced for the title, but she snatched the mic and said it didn’t matter who he chose. She will win anyway. Phillips retrieved the mic and welcomed out Tiffany Lynn Page. Page took a seat at the table and began trash talking with Vanessa. Phillips interrupted right away to say that none of them can lay a finger on each other between now and the match or they face disqualification and in Nessa's case vacation of the title. He then welcomed out the next challenger, Alejandro Rivera. Rivera scowled at both women and took his seat. Phillips said there was one more space and asked who they thought it might be. There was much speculation before announcing that the fourth competitor will be Ryan Samuels. Samuels came out with his bull rope. It was impossible to tell who the crowd hated the most amongst all of these wrestlers. Rivera, while largely disliked, was perhaps the least loathed it seemed as they all sat the table trading insults before signing the contracts and waivers not to touch each other between now and the fight. They each then exited separately to the same jeers, as Phillips gathered up the contracts.
SINGLES MATCH
Indie Legends v Glory
The Freedom Fighters put on a strong display in their Television Tag Title match last week, narrowly coming up short. This week sees their first singles outings as Glory came out to a strong reception. While many have speculated who lie under the masks of this dynamic duo, their identities remain highly classified. Indie, on the other hand, was her usual vociferous and boastful self. The fourth generation superstar remains defiant in her abilities. On this occasion she was proven right once more, reversing a Spinning tornado back fist from Glory into a 2nd Amendment Right (Right Handed Punch to the face) for the win.
Winner: Indie Legends
BACKSTAGE
Marisol Vilaro was backstage with Gabriel Landry. Mari wanted to talk about her title defence and said the match will serve as a lesson for all, proof that success comes to those who work hard. Unlike her opponent who has probably been wrestling for about five minutes and was not willing to pay her dues. Vilaro said Renton had not earned the right to challenge for such a prestigious title at this stage in her career but she was more than happy to give her a little boost with this opportunity. Who knows, after she loses she may subscribe to Vilaro Fitness to better herself. Landry was next and had a message for his challengers tonight. Tonight was the night he would finally shut Flynn Howell up. Not only was he going to retain his belt but he was going to break his jaw and do everyone a favour. He’ll be eating from a straw for the next few months and won’t be troubling anyone. He said he didn’t know how Holmes had wormed her way into this match but she too would be sent back to the bottom of the ladder where she belonged. #Couplegoals were still be the team to be beat, and they were going to prove that individually over the next two nights.
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Andrew Garrison v Kanaka Mauna v Hideo Watanabe
Three bruisers inside the ring and it was the heavyweight mayhem everyone wanted. Each man dished out and received their fair share of power moves as this triple threat rallied back and forth and back again between all three of them. Eventually it was debuting Hideo that got the win with a Blood on the Sword (Springboard Curb Stomp) on Mauna to take it home.
Winner: Hideo Watanabe
TELEVISION TAG TEAM TITLE LADDER MATCH
Andrew Raynes & Duke Andrews (c) v Kimberley Williams & Mikaela Callaway
Raynes offered a rare fist bump to his friend in Kimberley Williams pre-match but was swiftly pulled back by Duke who wanted to no signs of sportsmanship at this point. Raynes shrugged it off and the match got underway with the reigning champions setting the pace with some power moves and regular tags. But when Mikaela got a hot to tag Kim it was game on and the Queens were well in control. Mikaela hit a Somersault Dropkick on Duke but Raynes pulled her legs out from under ropes to make the stop. Once back in the ring Duke regained control with a stomp to the back as she entered and he duly saw out the match with his Goodnight Now! (Hells Gate submission) before unhooking the belts to retain.
Winners: Andrew Raynes & Duke Andrews (Still Television Tag Team Champions)
BACKSTAGE
Heathen Jones was on his way to the ring with Hickey when Andrew Garrison attacked him from behind in retribution for last week. A back and forth fight ensued that was eventually broken up by officials.
SINGLES MATCH
Heathen Jones v Alejandro Rivera
Heathen came out clutching his neck and head, visibly hurt from the backstage altercation. Rivera didn’t care though and launched straight into him, attacking the affected areas. Heathen gave a good fight back, though, and with Hickey’s assistance almost stole a huge upset against the Undisputed Title challenger, but Rivera clawed it back with a Capital Punishment (Wrist Clutch Burning Hammer)
Winner: Alejandro Rivera
BACKSTAGE
Kimberley Williams was backstage. Tonight’s defeat hurt but she was undeterred. She owed it to herself to keep challenging for titles and more importantly she owed it to the Kimmymaniacs. Asked what's next she only had one answer.. THE BUNKHOUSE STAMPEDE! This got a cheer from the fans back inside the arena.
SINGLES MATCH
Vanessa Reckless v Zara Walker
Undisputed Champion Reckless was not in the mood for showcasing her talents tonight, toying with Walker throughout and bending all the rules going. It almost came to bite her in the ass though as Walker jumped her when she was being reprimanded and began to beat her round the ring. We almost had an underdog story on our hands with a few close pinfalls, that would have automatically triggered a shot at the belt for Walker had Nessa stayed down. But after rolling out the ring and allowing her opponent to chase her, Reckless stayed true to form and a stomp to the back as Walker climbed under the ropes allowed the champ to regain control, where she firmly remained and secured the win.
Winner: Vanessa Reckless
POST MATCH
Reckless picked up her belt and looked into the camera. No one was taking it from her. The Reckless Era was no where near over, she claimed.
SINGLES MATCH
Tiffany Lynn Page v Myra Rivers
Former North American and Television champion Page might have an Undisputed Title match on the horizon but she wasn’t looking past Rivers here, taking the fight to her fellow female veteran. And whilst impressive at first it didn’t last, as Myra grew into the fight she started to make the usual complaints and excuses. The resulting effect was a cheap shot that allowed her back into the match. Once again though Rivers reclaimed control with a Spirit Breaker (Corkscrew Neckbreaker). Page kicked out, but as Myra was lining up the finish Vilaro climbed up on the apron to protest, distracting both her and Referee. Landry threw a chair into the ring and stirred Page, who quickly came to her senses. Just as she was about to put it to use the Referee decided he’d had enough. Page threw the chair into Myra’s arms and dropped to the mat clutching her face. The official made his own mind up as to what had happened, despite Myra’s protests, and promptly awarded Page the win by disqualification. Rivers picked her up by the hair for retribution but before she could do anything Vilaro and Landry were inside the ring. However before she knew it Chelsea LeClair AND Callie Renton came rushing down the rampway to level things up. Landry, Vilaro and Page smugly exited before a brawl could ensue.
Winner: Tiffany Lynn Page (by disqualification)
BACKSTAGE
Tiffany Lynn Page was stopped for interview. She welcomed GM Phillips decision to give her a shot at the Undisputed Title but was disappointed it wasn't one on one. Never mind though, she always finds a way to win. Finally they will all have gold around their waists.
TELEVISION TITLE LADDER MATCH
Silas Romero (c) v Kore Violet
Another title match. Another ladder match. Romero already had the better of Kore once and regularly reminds us of it. Now they come together once more for his Television Title as it’s hoisted in the air above them. Before the bell even rings Kore lands one on his jaw and the fight breaks out. Romero gets back on top but a chair shot from Kore, after being tossed one from Moriarty, reverses things back. She goes for the win, as Moriarty holds Romero by the legs to prevent him getting up but Noa Skye comes rushing to the ring and sends her crashing to the mat. Noa and Moriarty then brawl through the crowd. Romero popped up with a Ripcord Rolling Elbow shortly after and made the climb to retain his belt.
Winner: Silas Romero (Still Television Champion)
POST-MATCH
Romero picked up his belt and a mic as he and Noa stood on the ramp. He said there was only person he wanted to face next week. Beating Kore was fun, but beating her pasty sidekick too would be the icing on the cake. This Friday it will Silas Romero v Colin Moriarty for the Television Title, as he moves one step closer to his five defences.
HEADLINER
JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE LADDER MATCH
Gabriel Landry (c) v Flynn Howell v Serenity Holmes
Landry’s belt was raised high above the ring as they all looked on. Flynn rubbed his hands together while Serenity eye-balled him from across the way. Gabe was strictly business but relaxed as ever as the bell finally went and the action got underway. Flynn was the early recipient of most of the action. While Landry and Holmes have no loyalty to one another, they were at least unified in their quest to put the young Welshman in his place. Landry was quicker to turn on his interim ally though and intent on making this a quick victory, using his pace and agility to ascend the ladder, but it took a lot to keep down Holmes and she soon sent him flying with a push of the ladder. The ring was hers now but an innocuous grab of the ankle from Vilaro on the outside sent her tumbling to the canvas. The resulting argument was enough to allow Flynn back in and prevent her from a possible victory as this one bounced to and fro with near misses and close calls. After twenty minutes of heavy falls and high risk maneouvers though Flynn found himself in a position of opportunity, after drop kicking a ladder when Serenity had one hand on the belt. Up he went but just when Landry was about to climb into the ring and make the save Scarlett stuck out a leg and sent him flying across the floor onto the outside. It was just enough to allow Flynn the extra few seconds he needed, as he unhooked the belt to resounding jeers around the arena.
Winner: Flynn Howell (New Junior Heavyweight Champion)
BACKSTAGE
Indie Legends was inside the office of Nigel Phillips. She was tired of winning each week whilst other, less talented wrestlers, get shots at titles. She massaged his ego a bit, saying her family had already respected him and that he was talked about regularly in her house growing up. It seemed to work, as he promised her something was right around the corner. Indie left satisfied with Phillips looking very pleased with himself.

MAIN EVENT
SEIZE THE MOMENT LADDER MATCH
Tater v Ginny Kayl v Colin Moriarty v Scarlett Howell
The inaugural Seize the Moment match needed little introduction but a recap of the stakes wouldn’t harm anyone. The trophy was dangled high above them on a rope for the four wrestlers to climb one of the many ladders in and around the ring and retrieve. Said trophy then serves as a contract for them to cash in at any time for a shot at any Five Lakes Wrestling Titles of their choice. All championships are eligible, as well as the Undisputed and Television Tag Titles, however both champions must be present to defend their belts in that particular circumstance. Once the trophy has been cashed in a follow up match will be declared within a few weeks to determine a new holder to Seize the Moment. As things got underway Moriarty and Scarlett seemed to gel both as a unit and when it came to facing one another. The two redheads had the lions share of the early action, both coming close to ascending the ladder. Tater though was a man possessed and swiftly turned this into the hardcore brawl we all wanted it to be. The crowd were largely on his side but Kayl had the fans on her feet with a suicide dive from near the top of the ladder on all three opponents in a bid to save her chances. Once back on the steps it was Tater who tore her down but he too was sent packing with a Superkick from Scarlett. While maybe not the most talented of wrestlers overall, this chaotic affair seemed to play to her strengths. Tater was back on his feet now and tried climbing up on the opposite side but was met with a chair to the back from Flynn looking to aid his Mother’s pursuit. However he was met with a chair shot of his own from Ichabod Thrasher, much to the fans delight. Thrasher rolled Tater back into the ring in his quest for glory and he quickly began climbing but Ginny was back in action now and launched him to the outside with a swift push. She looked all set to claim the prize now, and elevate herself to stardom in this company but Kore Violet was having none of it and entered the ring with a chair of her own to knock her clean out. She set up a ladder in the centre and helped Moriarty, who was steadily climbing to his feet by this point. Scarlett was starting to rise but Kore ensured she stayed down, and Tater too was met with a baseball slide to the face as he tried re-enter, while Moriarty made his way up the ladder and unhooked the trophy.
Winner: Colin Moriarty (New Seize the Moment holder)
Moriarty raised the trophy in the air from the top do the ladder before dropping down to embrace Kore in the centre of the ring. The crowd jeered, as always when these two came together, but this couple now had power in their hands. Someone, somewhere, was going to be forced to face The Irish Curse at a moments notice.
