OPENING BOUT
TELEVISION TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
Shoot Is What We Aim For (Ichabod Thrasher & Weston Lovejoy) v Andrew Raynes & Duke Andrews (c)
The night got underway with the immediate entrance of Shoot Is What We Aim For! This was the first time fans had seen Weston Lovejoy in a Five Lakes ring and they were excited to see him, and Thrasher, in action together. The reigning champs though get off to a good start, using their superior size and strength to overpower the newcomer. Thrasher was kept at bay for the time being but Duke is constantly looking over his shoulder thoughout. He knows Rivera will be lurking somewhere, looking for revenge. Even when he gets inside the ring he’s regularly watching the shadows, which eventually allows Weston back in and a hot tag to Ich as the match opens up. Eventually Rivera comes out onto the entrance ramp. The fans are excited to see him but he doesn’t head down to the ring, opting to stare him down for the time being. Duke motions for him to bring it but Rivera just makes a cut throat gesture. The distraction is enough to allow the challengers back in again as Thrasher takes full advantage of Duke's lack of attention, eventually hitting a Mass Relay Kick for the three count, as Weston gets to the ring just in time to stop Raynes from breaking the pin. Shaking off the move and realising the outcome Duke is furious, cursing Rivera’s name as Raynes just stares a whole through his partner. He leaves the ring shaking his head as the new champions celebrate on the opposite side with the fans. What a debut for Weston Lovejoy!
Winners: Shoot Is What We Aim For (New Television Tag Team Champions)
SINGLES MATCH
REDЯUM v Hideo Watanabe
Five Lakes didn’t know what to make of REDЯUM at be first but they soon got behind him as he energised the crowd with an unorthodox style. Hideo made sure to them back in their place when he was back on top but the newcomer came through with a Party Foul (Single Leg Hook Tombstone Piledriver) that there was no coming back from. REDЯUM stared down his fallen opponent, satisfied with himself.
Winner: REDRUM
BACKSTAGE
REDЯUM is on hand for an interview after hhis match. He said Hideo was a tough opponent but for him this was just the beginning. He wants to fight the most dangerous men and women in Five Lakes Wrestling, nd he'll be keeping an eye out for they might be. He hopes the fans enjoy violence, which draws a cheer from the arena, watching on the big screen.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Fem/Slash v The London Lads
Newcomers Fem/Slash were given a warm welcome in this predictable squash match, bulldozing the local enhancement talent, who were ready waiting in the ring for them to arrive. A Final Cut (Spike Piledriver with Lena's Skye Destroyer sitout tombstone piledriver) on whichever of the two young men started the match (the other never even managed to get tagged in) sealed a fine first win inside the three minute mark.
WINNERS: Fem/Slash
IN THE RING
Duke Andrews was back out. He wanted a piece of AJ Rivera. The New York grappler's music hit and he made his way out but before he could reach the ring Frank James' music also began to play. He stopped Rivera in his tracks and demanded they don’t lay a finger on each other. He promised both men would get an opportunity to fight in the coming weeks. Until then they weren’t to lay a finger on each other or risk being suspended. A fight like should be settled inside the ring, so all the fans can tune in and see it. Frustrated at first, both seemed pleased at the decision.

TAG TEAM MATCH
The Rogues Gallery v The McConnaigh Brothers
The McConnaigh brothers were not really given a fair crack at the whip last time out, as they ran out victors by disqualification following a couple of chair shots. Rogues Gallery, equally deplored as their previous opponents, were at least more give them a fair fight, typically more interested in showcasing their in ring abilities than C&C. A good even match bounced back and forth as the McConnaigh’s grew into the match but with all four men in the ring in the latter stages it was the more experienced Rogues that took advantage of the chaos, double teaming Finn with a DEFCON-1 (Kneeling Powerbomb (Kasiano) / Diving Foot Stomp (Silvera) combination).
Winners: The Rogues Gallery
BACKSTAGE
After a short break The McConnaigh Brothers were backstage after their match. "Flynn here.." he began, still clutching his head. They were naturally disappointed with the result tonight but at least it didn’t go down like last week. They’re still growing and learning as a team and the Rogues were a good test. Next time they step into the ring together they vowed things would be different.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Wendy Wynne & Vivian Venture v KURAI & Brad St James
Wynne and Venture never really clicked, arguing from the off over who should start. Both were reluctant to tag the other one in and any periods of dominance were short lived. Kurai and St James on he other hand were slick and organised, capitalising on every opportunity. It was only a matter of time before they got the three count, and a stubborn Venture’s refusal to bring in her partner made for a light ten minutes work. The two women stood in the centre of the ring arguing after the match had finished, as the male allies celebrated back up the entrance ramp.
Winners: KURAI & Brad St James
BACKSTAGE
Flynn Howell was walking, very solemnly, through the backstage halls. His face was glum and his Junior Heavyweight Title was dragging behind him along the floor. Emma Harrington approached and asked for him a few words but he declined, he wasn’t in the mood. She asked again but he just ignored her and walked off in the opposite direction.
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Serenity Holmes v Corsen Howell v Jess Carter
Three talented young women all in the ring together, as he returning Jess Carter received a standing ovation. Serenity had the majority of the crowd behind her and dominated the opening five minutes but Corsen was shrewd and worked her way back in, eventually stealing the win with n Orange Crush (Victory Roll into a Double Foot Stomp) on Carter after shoving Serenity through the ropes from behind.
Winner: Corsen Howell
BACKSTAGE
Wendy Wynne was being interviewed after her match. She was angry. Threatening to conjure up a spell on those that deserved to face her wrath. First up was Vivian Venture, for not tagging her in to save the match. She will pay the price soon, hopefully inside the ring. Secondly, she demanded to know why the people who run Five Lakes Wrestling hate her so. Asked to elaborate she waffled on about various things that had irked her recently, although very little of it made sense. Even so, there was going to be hell to pay!
SINGLES MATCH
Izzy Ricci v Mad Max
Max and Ricci were reunited following last week’s tag bout, folllowing which the latter attacked the former completely unprovoked. Ricci wanted to avenge her loss while Max was eager to avenge the beatdown as they brawled around the ring chaotically. Ricci pulled an eye rake, but when down on the ground Max stomped on her hand in frustration. Tiffany Monroe came out to make it two on one shortly after but Ai Akina, Max’s partner the previous week, came rushing to the ring to make the save. Max gave a nod of appreciation to her newfound ally. This was far from over.
Winner: No contest
BACKSTAGE
Myra Rivers was in the office of Frank James. She thanked him for the opportunity of a Television Title shot tonight. Her singles career was just taking off before the hiatus, and with the NAWL Legends Semi-Finals too she felt like it was back on track again. That said her and Chelsea (LeClair) haven’t defended their Tag belts for a long time. Being a champion is great but it means nothing if they can’t prove themselves. James agreed. He promised them next week they would defend their belts.
SINGLES MATCH
Tiffany Monroe v Ai Akina
Monroe and Akina were back in the ring now with added fuel to the fire following the previous match up. It lasted all of three minutes before Ricci came down to the ring for revenge. She hovered around the outside momentarily before climbing upon the apron to goad Akina. Akina made a swing for her but it was to be her downfall as Monroe capitalised and a two on one beatdown began quickly after the. Akina fought back and eventually managed to get away, looking around the place expecting Mad Max to be in her corner, but she was nowhere to be seen.
Winner: Ai Akina (by disqualification)
BACKSTAGE
Ai Akina confronted Mad Max in the backstage halls. Akina had her back earlier in the night. Why didn’t she return the favour? She claims to know what’s happening all the time, yet didn’t prevent it from happening. Max paused. She knew full well it would happen in Akina's match but didn’t want to intervene because she knew what else was coming. Akina demanded she explain what that meant, but Max promised it would all make sense in time.
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
NO HOLDS BARRED
Noa Skye v Kimberley Williams v Anya Leabeaux
All three women came out to a great reception and brought with them a variety of objects for this match up. Anya was swinging her spiked necklace around in a threatening manner, while Kim was stroking and talking to her plush toy penguin - the infamous Wasley. Noa came out last, riding to the ring in a tank. A literal army tank, before disembarking and diving into the ring to get the match underway. Once it got underway this was whole thing was brutal. As soon as the bell rang it was like a switch flicked on (or possibly off?) and they turned into savages. Round and round it went as they put one another through tables, dropped onto chairs and were clattered around the head with all manner of objects. Noa threw Kim over the ropes and onto the tank were she landed on her back. Later, Anya took a face full of Ghost Pepper Sauce from Kim, who was tossed off the top turnbuckle and through two tables by Noa, who was almost choked out by Anya and her necklace. At one point nobody could stand but as Anya and Kim steadily rose to their feet, with Noa on the outside following a double Powerbomb through the announcers table from inside the ring, Kim managed to reverse Anya’s RKO and get her with a staple gun to the forehead. She then followed it up with a Shadowblade (Running Knee) for the win.
Winner: Kimberley Williams
BACKSTAGE
Kimberley Williams was delighted after a hard fought win. 'The Peoples Bunkhouse Stampede Champion' was still Queen of the Death Match, she claimed. She welcomed the idea of bringing weekly violence to the show with the Brass Knuckles Title, and was preparing her infinity gauntlet for when she gets her opportunity! The fans, as always, were loving it.
SINGLES MATCH
Flynn Howell v David Striker
Newcomer David Striker appeared to have already won the fans over, and had them back on their feet for the opening five minutes with his superior size and strength too much for the vociferous Flynn to handle. This would be a big statement win for the man known as ‘Bam Bam’ but instead it was wham bam thank you mam for the Welshman, who reversed a Somersault Reverse DDT to secure an impressive win with a Sitout Suplex Slam. He picked up his belt and headed for the back ignoring the jeers around him. No celebration, no emotion. The jeers began to lower, weirdly. Could the crowd be sympathising with him?
Winner: Flynn Howell
SINGLES MATCH
Scarlett Howell v Avery Smith
Scarlett’s singles career has been mixed thought her time here as both her and her daughter Corsen chase their own success stories. But she proved to be a threat to anyone’s championship with a great win here, giving little away throughout to her opponent in Avery. A Cradle DDT she calls the Scarlet Letter sealed it and she promptly celebrated on the turnbuckles to tease the fans. She motioned that belts would soon be round her waist before heading tot he back.
Winner: Scarlett Howell
BACKSTAGE
After a short break Red Lock Legion were in the office of Frank James. Scarlett and Corsen waited for Flynn to speak, but he didn't open his mouth. Instead standing in the corner looking even more glum than earlier. Corsen went to open her mouth but was beaten to it by Scarlett. The Red Lock Legion had proved their worth tonight, with all three of them winning. She wanted an opportunity for them to earn more gold than just Flynn's Junior Heavyweight Championship. James thought about it momentarily. "I couldn't agree more", he said. "So next week you'll get a shot at the Television Tag Titles." They all looked at each other, not knowing how to react. "That's right, he added. Two of you will get to face Weston Lovejoy and Ichabod Thrasher. I think you know who they both are by now," he joked. "I'll let you decide which two are going to represent.." he added, before we cut back to ringside.

TELEVISION TITLE MATCH
Silas Romero (c) v Myra Rivers
A reminder was given by the commentary team that if Silas retains he'll be able to cash the belt in for a shot at either North American, Openweight, or Brass Knuckles Championship. Myra, however, could become the first person in 5LW to hold both a Tag and Singles belt simultaneously. With then minutes on the clock, Silas was eager to keep this as technical as possible, grounding Myra throughout. But this played into Myra's hands, who met his match with some great reversals and holds of her own. She looked set to steal a huge career win with the Rebel Splash (630 Splash) but Romero moved himself out of harms way just in time, securing a fine comeback to win and retain with the GKFO (Ripcord Rolling Elbow). Noa came to the ring and celebrated with her tag partner. History had been made. Myra, meanwhile, was given a standing ovation when she came to, having been agonisingly close to the win herself.
Winner: Silas Romero (Successfully retains the Television Title for a fifth time)
BACKSTAGE
After a short break Romero was backstage with Emma Harrington. He was delighted to have made history and done what nobody has managed to do. Frank James came up to them both and handed a contract to Romero. He said he had 28 days to name which belt he wanted to challenge for. Romero said he had pretty much decided but would reveal all in the next few weeks, before handing the Television Title over to the General Manager.
HEADLINER
BRASS KNUCKLES TITLE MATCH
Andrew Garrison v Jack McGrath (c)
The first of our now weekly contested Brass Knuckles Titles matches was a great advertisement for what’s in store throughout the rest of the year. Former Television champion Garrison was eager to add to his resume here and gave us all a rare glimpse of what it’s like to see the imposing Jack McGrath on the ropes. McGrath took a battering for the best part of ten minutes but the double champion was made of stern stuff and began to rally back. Garrison found himself thrown from the top of the elevated entrance ramp and into the barriers at one stage. While McGrath’s back was torn in two following a set of Powerbombs onto some ladders. McGrath had the last word though after a Things Fall Apart (Vertical Drop Brainbuster) meant he goes into next weeks show with two title defences on the cards.
Winner: Jack McGrath (Still Brass Knuckles Champion)
BACKSTAGE
Colin Moriarty and Kore Violet were backstage. Colin had a few choice words. Fuck Romero, he bellowed. 'I could have come down to the ring tonight and beat him senseless.' he said. 'But that would have just given him the win he so badly wanted. I see he got it anyway. Not hard to beat a 50 year old grandmother.' he added. 'Know that I’m watching him. When I wanna make my move I will.' He said until then they’ll do what they want, when they want. Asked what that means he just replied you’ll see.
IN THE RING
Meanwhile Frank James was out. He had the TV Title over his shoulder and an announcement to make. After Romero’s defence tonight it meant the belt was obviously vacant. Therefore he was putting an Open Battle Royal next week to crown a new champion. Everyone is invited, including current champions. May the best win.
MAIN EVENT
SINGLES MATCH
Kore Violet v Chelsea LeClair
Kore came out with Moriarty at her side and they shared a moment inside the ring to remind everyone this power couple were still strong, despite last weeks disappointments. As soon as Chelsea was through the ropes Kore wasted no time in attacking her. Chelsea was up against here, as the former Undisputed Champion beat her senseless around the ring. But the crowd were behind her, as she slowly but surely turned the tide until she was back on top. Kore, who once retained her title against LeClair, had nowhere to turn when she locked on her "TTFO" (Tap The F*** Out). The Figure 8 hold was too much for Violet, as she reached out from the centre of the ring. She held on for some time but was unable to get the ropes until Moriarty decided enough was enough. Sliding under the ropes he booted LeClair in the back, as the crowd hurled abuse, even throwing things at him inside the ring. The commentators were apoplectic, berating him for costing LeClair a guaranteed statement win here. But he didn't care, picking her up and chokeslamming TWICE onto the canvas. Myra Rivers came running to the ring and despite getting a few shots in was eventually double teamed by Kore. After receiving the same treatment Moriarty and Kore picked up the Tag Titles and draped them over their shoulders, before kissing in the centre of the ring. Moriarty gave the fans and camera a middle finger before dropping the belts onto the beaten bodies of LeClair and Rivers, as the show went off the air.
Winner: Chelsea LeClair (by disqualification)
