LIVE! From St Catharines
Tuesday 17th September
BACKSTAGE
The show started with a cold opening, as Gwen Margolis and AJ Rivera were seen in the backstage area. Suddenly Rivera gave a smile, and reached across to shake the hand of someone behind Gwen’s back. Gwen turned around and was delighted to see her Uncle, and tag team partner, in Monty Margolis. The two embraced and Gwen asked what he’s doing here. Monty said last time he checked he still had a contract, and this was a big night. Tonight, he said, his niece was going to become Number One contender to the Undisputed Title, Rivera was in the Main Event and Monty was going to become Television Champion. Back down the hallway the crowd could be heard cheering at his announcement into the Open Battle Royal, as we cut to ringside for the first match.
OPENING BOUT
SINGLES MATCH
Indie Legends v Tinsley Nolan
The first match of the night got underway but barely lasted 30 seconds after Indie rolled out the ring and made her way up the entrance ramp. A furious Tinsley demanded she come back and fight but Indie had other things on her mind, ignoring the vocal fans as she exited.
Winner: Tinsley Nolan (by count out)
BACKSTAGE
Indie Legends was passing through the backstage halls when she came face to face with Serenity Holmes. They stared one another down momentarily before Serenity spoke out, questioning her morals over leaving the ring in successive matches. Indie said she was above curtain jerking with nobodies. And besides, she was saving herself for title matches, such as the one later in the night. Holmes smiled. She was here for the same opportunity, warning Indie she won’t bet leaving the ring of her own accord this time around.
TELEVISION TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
Shoot Is What We Aim For (c) v Red Lock Legion
New champions Thrasher and Lovejoy were given the a huge cheer as they came down to ring with their belts. As expected Flynn was involved, with Corsen his partner as things got underway. The Legion started brightly but were no match for the champions, who began making quick tags and cheap shots to stay on top. The tables were turned though when a botched flying elbow knocked out the referee. Flynn made use of the opportunity and took out Weston with his Junior Heavyweight Title, reviving the Ref there after and landing one on Thrasher for good measure as Corsen made the three count. Flynn didn’t hold back his celebrations up the ramp, leaving Weston and Ich stood in disbelief.
Winners: Red Lock Legion (New Television Tag Team Champions)
BACKSTAGE
Flynn and Corsen were backstage celebrating with their Mother, Scarlett when Emma Harrington came along to interview. This time Flynn let his sister do the talking, but the message was all the same. This proved, in their eyes, they were the best team in the division and looked forward to racking up enough wins to take the Undisputed Tag belts also. Midnight Demon Club then came into the picture. Flynn squared straight up to Romero, and likewise Corsen with Noa. Romero gave a wry smile, before challenging them to a match. Flynn said it wasn't his call, but if it was they hadn't earned one yet anyway. Romero had a feeling he might say something along those lines, which is why he went to Frank James first. Next week it'll be Midnight Demon Club v Red Lock Legion for the Television Tag Titles.
BRASS KNUCKLES TITLE MATCH
Jack McGrath (c) v Kanaka Mauna
Big Mauna towered over the intimidating McGrath, who stood firm in the centre of the ring, a belt on either shoulder. Once the match got underway he tossed the double champion around the place; over the ropes, through tables, into barriers. McGrath was not used to being over powered like this and had to dig deep to find a way into this match. Mauna tried several pins and even hit a Chokeslam but McGrath refused to give in. Eventually a DDT on the Hawaiian Giant, onto a chair, began to change things and McGrath wearily took advantage, landing blow after blow to the big man’s head. Mauna kept getting to his feet but McGrath didn’t hold back, ensuring his colossal challenger was out cold before finally securing a pin. Medics had to check in on the unconscious Mauna after, who could barely stand, but McGrath was not in the best shape either, limping back up the entrance ramp. With a defence of his Openweight Title still to come, how much had this taken out of him?
Winner: Jack McGrath (Still Brass Knuckles Champion)
BACKSTAGE
La Fracasada were backstage for interview wearing capes and superhero eye masks. Emma Harrington, interviewing, asked what this was all about. Jess expained that they had taken it upon themselves to become the super heroes this company needs. They were here to clean up the tag division and fight off the bad guys. Just then the Freedom Fighters appeared, on their way to the ring, as a lengthy, awkward silence amassed between them all. Glory said there was only room for one set of superheroes, and if they remove their masks and capes tonight, this will be the end of it. Avery laughed. She and Jess had business to take care of. Everyone can thank them later.
TAG TEAM MATCH
The Freedom Fighters (Glory & Miss Libery) v C&C (Coco Lazlo & Claire Lichfield)
The Freedom Fighters were slow to get going, presumably perturbed by that backstage altercation, as Claire and Coco ran amok over their counterparts. But Glory and Miss Liberty found a way back in to this and from there it looked like the crime fighters would get their win. But once again, the relative newcomers had other ideas, as Coco pulled a couple of water pistols from her pants and tossed one to Claire. They squirted liquid in the faces of their opponents and attacked them after with their finishers, but the Referee refused to make the pin, instead awarding the match by disqualification. C & C protested, before squirting the Ref and attacking him too, as the crowd furiously heckled them.
Winners: The Freedom Fighters (by disqualification)

Ichabod Thrasher and Weston Lovejoy were on hand for interview. Naturally, they were furious at losing their belts earlier. They vowed to get them back in the coming weeks. But the night wasn't over. Ich still had his Openweight Title match, and Weston, they announced, was going to be entering the Television Title Battle Royal. God help any of the Red Lock Legion, if they dare to enter.

TAG TEAM MATCH
La Fracasada v Fem/Slash
La Fracasada were already in the ring, still adorning their capes, when Fem/Slash came out to a huge cheer. Jess was enraged that they weren’t given a normal entrance but the Referre didn’t have he answers she was looking for. The injustice was still being argued when the match got underway and put them on the back foot but she Avery managed to get them back on track momentarily. Once she tagged Jess back in though it swiftly switched back in favour of the newcomers and they sealed a second successive win with the …
Winners: Fem/Slash

Silas Romero and Noa Sky were being interviewed now. Neither were booked tonight, and Emma Harrington speculated that one if not both would be entering the Open Battle Royal. Romero laughed. One day he might come back and challenge for that title, but tonight Noa will be taking the crown. See if she doesn't. Two weeks ago he said the MDC were coming for all the belts, and now things were beginning to fall into place. Harrington asked if he's decided which belt he was going to challenge for, now that he has the opportunity to fight for either the Brass Knuckles, Openweight or North American title. Romero said a decision had been made, and he'll it announce it later tonight.

SINGLES MATCH
Ozzy Havok v Wheeler Wilkes
Contrasting entrances for these two men, as Scarlett Howell came out alongside Wheeler to show her support. In what has been described as the first ever 'no t-shirt match', was a great spectacular for all, as these two heavyweight muscled one another in and around the ring, shirtless, of course. Wheeler appeared to be too strong for popular Havok, but he wasn't one to be outdone, and fought his way back into the match. He looked all set to get one over his fellow newcomer until Scarlett jumped up on the apron to distract the Ref. A frustrated Ozzy weighed in allowing Wheeler the opportunity to attack him from with the Wheeler Kick (Leaping Big Boot) behind and steal the win.
Winner: Wheeler Wilkes
BACKSTAGE
Alejandro Rivera was backstage for a few words. He still wanted to get his hands on Duke Andrews, but more than anything he wanted to get gold around his waist again tonight. At the end of 2023 he was voted Future Undisputed Champion. Tonight he can prove why the fans saw that in him. He knows that if he pins Vanessa tonight, he'll earn a shot in his own right. And that's exactly what he's going to do.

UNDISPUTED TITLE NO. 1 CONTENDER
ELIMINATION MATCH
Tiffany Lynn Page v Gwen Margolis v Marisol Vilaro v Zara Walker
Two weeks ago these four women met in a heated tag match, with Gwen and Zara coming out on top in quote un-quote controversial circumstances. This time around it was every woman for themselves with the chance to fight for the Undisputed Title at play. That said, it started off with two sets of women on either side and it took at least five minutes for either “side” to begin fighting one another. Once it did things opened up and Zara was the first to go after Vilaro capitalised on her overpowering Gwen to hit the Vilaró Experience (Handspring corner elbow). Zara Walker is eliminated. Her celebrations didn’t last long though as Page managed to eliminate her friend at the first opportunity, sealing her fate with the Hottie Bomb (Powerbomb). Marisol Vilaro is eliminated. That left two, and Gwen was on her feet now as they battled back and forth. It looked like Gwen had secured arguably the biggest win in her career when she hit the Disaster Kick but Vilaro plucked Page's limp leg up onto the ropes after the three count. Mari’s protests were enough to get the Referee to reverse his decision and Gwen’s protests went on just long enough to let Page back in, who hit another Hottie Bomb to steal the win for a shot at the Undisputed Title, in this the first of three Number One contenders matches in the coming weeks. Gwen Margolis in elminated.
Winner: Tiffany Lynn Page (Number One Contender to the Undisputed Title)
BACKSTAGE
Wheeler Wilkes is parading around the dressing room, flexing in the mirror in front his beau, Scarlett Howell. He’s pumped after his win. Flynn and Corsen are there too. Flynn particularly is looking at him with disdain. He kisses Scarlett passionately which makes both siblings wretch, before announcing that either he (Wheeler) or Scarlett is going to be leaving the building tonight as Television Champion. Probably him, he says. But as the biggest and strongest person in the match he knows everyone will be looking to gang up and get him out the ring. If that happens, which it won’t, he’ll make sure Scarlett leaves with the belt. Scarlett looks impressed at this ‘chivalry’. Flynn steps up and announces that him and Corsen are entering too. There’s room for a third belt around his waist, alongside the two over his shoulders, he says. ‘That’s sick!’ yells Wheeler, ‘I need you guys to have my back out there!’ he adds. Flynn just snarls. Wheeler then leaves the room to go and get champagne, ahead of tonight’s celebrations. As he leaves the room Scarlett looks her kids and smiles, clearly smitten with her new man. ‘I don’t know what you seen in that douche,' says Flynn.
SINGLES MATCH
Colin Moriarty v Ryan Samuels
Heavyweights Moriarty and Samuels barely waited for the bell before locking up, and it bounced back and forth with some hard right hands and powerful slams, each one echoing round the arena. Moriarty and Kore sent a clear message to the Tag Team Champions last week, parading with the belts after an attack on Rivers and LeClair. He would have loved to have followed that up with a win but when LeClair and Rivers came out onto the entrance ramp he was briefly distracted, letting Samuels in for a huge Lariat he couldn't back from. HOT DAMN! he yelled, before stealing a beer from someone in the front row and necking it.
Winner: Ryan Samuels
BACKSTAGE
Gwen Margolis was in her locker room, distraught at her loss earlier in the night. Her Uncle, Monty, was there to console her, giving her some words of advice as he'd done so throughout her whole life. He said you’ll have setbacks like these your whole career. Find that next opportunity and take it with both hands. Don’t wait around for it. Make it come to you. Gwen thought about it for a moment, before agreeing, and leaving the room abruptly.
UNDISPUTED TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
Chelsea LeClair & Myra Rivers (c) v Lambert & Butler
Champions LeClair and Rivers have had to wait a while to defend their belts, and after asking for the opportunity were determined to ensure it wasn't a foolish mistake. Lambert and Butler were a slick outfit, and put them under pressure in the early exchanges but Rivers carefully plotted a neat reversal and some clever tags between them meant they were able to hold out and see this one through with a great performance, after Chelsea finished things off with a Corkscrew Moonsault on Butler.
Winners: Chelsea LeClair & Myra Rivers (Still Undisputed Tag Team Champions)
IN THE RING
After they match the Undisputed Tag Team champions, Myra and Chelsea, took to the mic. Sarcastically, they applauded Kore and Moriarty for getting their attention last week. They noticed that they have their attention too, after Moriarty's match earlier in the night. They put their hands on their belts but that will be the last time they ever touch them, and challenged them to a match at Blood and Thunder in a few weeks time. After that they can move to the back of the line, because there's a lot of people far more deserving of a shot, and they were ready to take them all on.
NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH
Callie Renton (c) v Ginny Kayl
Renton and Kayl have shown each other plenty of respect leading up to this match, and were right to do so after a brilliant 20 minute bout went back and forth and round in circles. Their similar styles were a perfect blend and they had the crowd on their feet throughout. Callie had issued the open challenge, and one point may have come to regret it when Ginny locked on the Kaylamity - A backstabber immediately transitioned into a rear-naked choke. But she just about got free, and hit back minutes later with The Heiress (Top Rope Corkscrew Stunner). Unbelievably Ginny kicked out, and the match rumbled on, but as she fought her way back in, setting up her own finale with an Exclamation Mark (450 splash) but Callie dived out the way and took advantage of the error to hit an Asai DDT and another Heiress for the win. These two young women have great careers ahead of themselves, and there was another sign of respect at the end, exiting the ring together to an appreciative crowd.
Winner: Callie Renton (Still North American Champion)
BACKSTAGE
Callie Renton was stopped for an interview. She congratulated Ginny on a great match but was delighted to still be champion, as she promised she would be. She didn't work this hard, for this long, to fall at the first hurdle. She had offered up an open challenge and Ginny had been bold enough to step up. Who wanted to be next? Emma asked if that was another open challenge and she replied yes. She will NEVER stop defending this belt, as long people want to fight her for it.

BACKSTAGE
A quick montage was shown of wrestler's entering the arena earlier in the night, teasing who was likely to enter the Television Title battle royal. Wendy Wynne was seen with two actual televisions under her arms, as onlookers looked at her curiously. Ai Akina and Mad Max were both seen, passing through the halls, eye-balling one another. David Striker was seen warming up, as Anya Lebeaux was spotted pushing a shopping cart full of foreign objects towards the ring.
IN THE RING
Jack McGrath and Ichabod Thrasher came out to the ring before their match but before things got underway Silas Romero's music hit. The crowd began to cheer as he stepped out onto the entrance ramp. He had a mic in hand, and the fact he had chosen to come out before this match meant everyone knew in a way what was coming, but he teased it anyway. Callie Renton is doing great things with the North American title. She was a true champion and he didn't want to end her reign this early on. The Brass Knuckles Title was a lot of fun, he explained, but he knew, deep down, Noa (Skye) had one eye on that bad boy. But this belt.. this was the one for him. The Openweight Title was for the true grapplers amongst us. And he was ready to face whoever wins tonight! The crowd cheered, as he made his way to the ringside for a closer view of the action. McGrath didn't really acknowledge Romero throughout, propped up against the turnbuckle, visibly hurt but trying not show it, from earlier in the night. Thrasher smiled and nodded, probably half-expecting his decision, as the match got underway.

OPENWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
Jack McGrath (c) v Ichabod Thrasher
McGrath limped to the centre of the ring, grimacing and scowling as Thrasher shrugged and laughed, but when the bell went McGrath found some adrenaline and put the boot into his challenger. He beat him round the ring until Thrasher got a reversal and began fighting back. He worked away on McGrath's injured leg and back, from his punishing bout with Mauna, and tried punishing him into submission. But McGrath was not one to quit easily, taking it all with gritted teeth. He started to come back into it and in a remarkable turn around had Ich on the ropes, ready to hit his Cold Snap, but the self proclaimed 'Young Legend' wormed his way free and latched on the Emmure (Arm Trap Cut Throat Crossface) in the centre of the ring. McGrath pulled himself towards the ropes but just as he got within reach Thrasher pulled him back to the centre of the ring, and eventually his back and neck could take no more, as he pounded the mat in frustration. Thrasher rolled out of the ring, delighted and overwhelmed, as he was handed the Openweight Title. He came with one belt tonight, but was leaving with a different one entirely. He exchanged a brief stare down with Romero, as the two nodded in respect, before exiting up the entrance ramp, as just the fifth ever person to be Openweight Champion. McGrath meanwhile pulled himself to his feet and picked up his Brass Knuckles Title, to a mixed reception. This loss hurt, but he tried not to show it.
Winner: Ichabod Thrasher (New Openweight Champion)
HEADLINER
TELEVISION TITLE OPEN BATTLE ROYAL
Monty Margolis v Flynn Howell v Corsen Howell v Scarlett Howell v Wheeler Wilkes v Weston Lovejoy v Ozzy Havok v Mad Max v Ai Akina v Wendy Wynne v Izzy Ricci v Tinsley Nolan v Indie Legends v Serenity Holmes v Weston Lovejoy v Patti Rose v Noa Skye v Anya Lebeaux v David Striker v Billie Garner
Frank James came out with the belt beforehand. He confirmed there are 20 competitors for tonight’s match. Corsen and Scarlett came out first, followed by Flynn, then Wheeler Wilkes. Ozzy Havok then made his entrance, staring down Wheeler as he entered the ring. Serenity Holmes was next, to a huge cheer, as Flynn rolled his eyes and mocked the cheering the crowd. Weston Lovejoy kept the crowd on their feet, sending a clear message to the Howell's, particularly Flynn, as he joined them inside the ropes. Monty Margolis was next, followed by Indie Legends, Patti Rose, Tinsley Nolan, Izzy Ricci and Mad Max. Ai Akina soon followed, as Max shook her head in a knowing manner. 'One Way or Another' then blasted over the PA and the crowd were on their feet. Monty couldn't believe his eyes when Gwen Margolis marched to the ring, as her Uncle nodded approvingly. Anya Lebeaux came next, wheeling her shopping cart of weapons only to be denied by an official at ringside. Begrudgingly she agreed to enter sans foreign objects, but wasn't happy with the regulations. Noa Skye came through with the penultimate walk out, stopping to eye up the shopping cart of weapons en route, before Wendy Wynne made the final entrance, muttering something inaudible towards the General Manager as she entered the ring.
Once things got underway it didn't take long the first elimination, as Patti Rose was clotheslined over the ropes by David Striker, immediately followed by Billie Garner who literally picked her up, span her around a few times and threw her over the ropes. Scarlett was swooning but not for long as she attacked from behind by Serenity Holmes. Soon after Tinsley Nolan was eliminated by an Ai Akina drop kick. Indie Legends, who had saved herself purposely for this opportunity, was close to getting Flynn Howell out, only for Serenity Holmes, of all people, to spare his blushes, and toss Indie over from behind. Howell offered his hand in thanks but Holmes just laughed, she wasn't falling for it. Flynn just shrugged and went on his way, attacking Weston Lovejoy as Ai Akina was seen trying to avenge her recent attack on Izzy Ricci by beating her down in the corner. Mad Max entered the fray and a two on one beatdown looked set for a straight forward elimination, until Max turned on her when she elast expected it, and sent her flying up and over out of nowhere. Max just shook her head and held her arms out and shut her eyes, as Wheeler Wilkes jumped her from behind, and eliminated her soon after, right behind the furious Akina. Wilkes wasted no time and tossed the dazed Ricci over too, for his third elimination in a matter of minutes. He moved to the other side of the ring and helped Flynn in a two on one attack for Weston Lovejoy, but Weston began to fight back. He whipped Wheeler into the ropes but Wheeler came back at speed and stretched his arm out for a Lariat, but Lovejoy was quick to see it and dived out the way, as Wheeler went hurtling full speed into a helpless Flynn Howell, who went tumbling backwards out the ring, promptly eliminated by his Mother's boyfriend. Ozzy Havok then seized the moment and got rid of the menacing Wilkes, avenging his defeat from earlier in the night, but an exchange of words over the ropes lead to an altercation on the ring apron, and Wendy Wynne was on hand to take advantage, and sent Havok flying up and over to the outside. She pointed angrily at Frank James and motioned that the belt sat in front of him would be round her waist before being sent crashing to the mat by a Weston Lovejoy dropkick. Striker was looking unbeatable, and no one could get near him as caused havoc around the ring, but a whip into the ropes on Margolis was met with a suprise dropkick on the return, and Serenity Holmes followed it up with a shot of her own to send him out. Meanwhile, Noa Skye was looking to upend Serenity. She beckoned for Anya to come and help her, as Holmes refused to budge with one leg over the ropes, but Anya instead flipped the unsuspecting Noa over, before letting out a laugh that only irked the Space Queen. Serenity quietly got to her feet and tossed Anya over, mid-laugh. Noa by now was on her feet and grabbed a baking tray from the shopping cart, promptly whacking it around Anya's head. Anya got up and chased after her with a nutmeg grater as the two continued the fight around the ring and into the crowd. On the other side of the ring Monty and Gwen Margolis double teamed Corsen Howell, as Scarlett came running to her aid. But they managed to get her out just in time. Corsen grabbed the leg of Monty and tripped him and when he turned to face her Wendy Wynne sent him packing with another opportune elimination. Once again she motioned for the belt but Lovejoy was on hand again, this time to send her over the ropes and out of the match, ensuring after all that the belt, on this occasion, would not be coming her way. Turning to face the action he was met with a superkick from Scarlett, and his own night was finished, as he tumbled backwards onto the outside, to leave the remaining three women circling eachother. Gwen and Serenity decided Scarlett should be the one to go and a quick double team left the final two as the crowd began to cheer. The fan favourites took it in momentarily, before locking up and taking the fight to one another. The fresher Holmes got the advantage and went to the eliminate the tired Gwen, who had fought three women already earlier in the night, but somehow managed to find a way to reverse momentum, and pounced off the turnbuckle to face-slam her into the mat. Serenity stumbled to her feet and Gwen wasted no time, ensuring this was it, and tossed her over the ropes before collapsing to the mat in relief, tears and exhaustion. Frank James entered the ring and Monty returned to help her up, as she was handed the Television Title, barely mustering the energy to lift it into the air. Several months earlier they had agreed to part ways, if only for a few months, as Monty devoted his time to Fatherhood. He had felt personally responsible for their Tag Team Title loss, and failure to recapture the belts, encouraging Gwen to forge her own path and find singles success without him. Their journey together has been a long, heart-braking tale, and while they may have found success together, she could now finally say she was a champion in her own right. Serenity gave a brief applause to the victor, before begrudgingly sloping up the entrance ramp, clasping some out-stretched hands as she went. She has held many belts of her own, and knew that feeling of success only too well, to not make it about her, despite coming so far and going so close. That first Five Lakes title was getting closer, but tonight it wasn't to be as Gwen found a second wind and pulled herself on top of the turnbuckle to celebrate with the cheering fans, as your new Five Lakes Wrestling Television Champion.

MAIN EVENT
SINGLES MATCH
Vanessa Reckless v Alejandro Rivera
Reckless and Rivera came face to face in the centre of the ring for this highly anticipated Main Event. Rivera, one of a handful of remaining Five Lakes originals, snarled at the Undisputed Champion, who gave a trademark cock of the head and bite of the teeth to try and intimidate him. Neither budged and once the the bell went it was all action as they brawled back and forth, eager to unleash some pent up fury on one another. Rivera gained a stronghold on the match, much to the fans excitement, and began closing in on a famous win. The commentators reminded everyone at home, that if he were to pin the champion here, he would earn himself a shot at the belt, and while many have tipped him as a future Undisputed champion, he has yet to challenge for the top honours. Reckless came back into it though and forced him to kick out of a superkick. But Rivera rallied to regain control and looked set for the win until Duke Andrews came out to spoil the party. Duke entered the ring and Rivera readied himself for a fight as Nessa pulled herself to feet but instead of fighting Rivera, Duke hit the champion with The Andrews Effect (One Winged Angel)! The bell rang out to end the match, as Duke stood over her laughing. Rivera, knowing he can't lay a hand on his rival, paced around the ring furiously.
Winner: Vanessa Reckless (by disqualification)
Duke pulled out a mic and came in close to Rivera’s face. ‘Good luck getting your shot now’ he said, with a smirk. Rivera was raging, clenching his fists. Duke continued to laugh and turned to exit the ring but as he did so Frank James’ music hit. The General Manager stood on top of the entrance ramp and swiftly asked that his music was cut. He reminded them that the ruling was still in place that if either one laid a finger on the other they would be suspended. A match between the two would take still place, and he had considered it for next week. But now he had other ideas. I don’t think it’s right that someone should attack the Undisputed Champion unprovoked and get away with it, he said. But at the same time he can't punish everyone that launches an unprovoked attack. Duke’s brow furrowed, as James went on. Next week, said James, Duke would be one on one with the Vanessa Reckless in a non-title match. She might not be able to tell us right now, but I guarantee you she will want that match and she will want your blood. Rivera put his hands out as if to say 'what about me?' 'Rivera', he added, 'you are to stay away from the ring for this match or you'll be suspended. If you can do that, you'll get your chance to face Duke the following week.' Rivera liked this, as the two men came face to once more, trash talking in the centre of the ring, as the night came to a close.
