LIVE! From Cincinnati
Sunday 3rd SeptemberFrank James came out to greet the crowd, but before doing so he asked that the entire roster come out onto the entrance ramp. He reminded them tonight was a big night and we would see the crowning of our first Tag Team and Undisputed Champions. But in order do so he needed an outcome from every match tonight. Therefore, all bouts would be no disqualification, and no count outs. A couple of wrestlers shook their heads in disbelief, while a few others looked at one another rubbing their hands together. The crowd meanwhile seemed pleased at the prospect.
Match 1
Undisputed Title Qualifier
Tiffany Lynn Page v Iida Matsuda
Lynn Page said in the week she had set her sights on the top tier title and she the bar high in this opening match. It was clear she had something of a score to settle and point to prove here after last week’s missed opportunity. That score wasn’t with Matsuda but she took it out on her anyway. Not quite her usual calm and composed performance, she almost slipped up early on. Matsuda smelt blood one a couple of occasions but failed to capitalise as Page came through for the win.
Winner: Tiffany Lynn Page
Backstage Lauryn Lawson was seen propped between the doorway to a locker room. She was talking to someone but it wasn’t clear who due to the wall between them and the camera. Lauryn told them they’ve been held back up to this point but she would change that for them. Stick to her plan and things would be different from here on out. The other party extended their hand and Lauryn shook it as we cut to ringside.
Match 2
Undisputed Title Qualifying Match
Khalon Norwood v AJ Rivera
With so much at stake Rivera didn’t come out alone, with Bell in tow to nobody’s surprise. They weren’t taking any chances to get through to the main event, as Bell climbed up on the apron at any point Norwood gained an advantage. The newcomer was clearly exacerbated and after a few occasions finally took the bait, allowing Rivera an opportunity to get on top and book his place in the main event. A bruised Norwood climbed to his feet and stared them down from ringside as they exited together, zero fucks given.
Winner: AJ Rivera
Match 3
Undisputed Title Qualifying Match
Leati Salavea v Lauryn Lawson
Leati picked up where he left off following an impressive main event debut last week. He looked to be in cruise control with one foot in the Title match until La Fracasada appeared at ringside. Carter climbed up on the apron and goaded him but he wasn’t biting, focused on the task at hand. It was enough of a distraction however to let Avery Smith attack him with a chair to the back. Leati was made of stronger stuff though and made the slow turn around for vengeance only to be attacked by Lawson in the process. There was no way back for him after that as Lawson took full advantage, claiming the win after a Running Punt.
Winner: Lauryn Lawson
Match 4
Undisputed Title Qualifying Match
Arley Kirk v Khloe Bell
Having already secured Rivera’s place the power couple came in with a similar game plan to ensure Bell would join him. Kirk though was fast out the blocks and the North American champ was in all kinds of trouble. Rivera stepped in to make it a handicap match, knowing full well there was nothing the Ref could do, as Kirk’s shot at the belt began to look near impossible. However, an unlikely ally emerged from the back in Khalon Norwood. Norwood, denied an opportunity by the same pairing early in the night, took out Rivera to leave Kirk alone with Bell. The commotion was enough to let Kirk in and claim her place in the Main Event.
Winner: Arley Kirk
Jay Sinclair came out to a big cheer before his match, the Openweight Title proudly slung over his shoulder. He spoke about how winning titles had become something of a habit for him, and tonight would be no different. After tonight was out the way he welcomed anyone to step up and face him for his current title, he would hide from no one.
Match 5
Undisputed Title Qualifying Match
Kore Violet v Jay Sinclair
Sinclair was inevitably full of confidence following his recent title win, but he had his hands full with Kore Violet right from the bell. However, as his experience appeared to potentially prove too much for the younger Kore, she took full advantage of tonight’s ‘relaxed rules’ and rolled to the outside for a breather. As Sinclair followed her out she had picked up a fans drink and threw it his face. As he fell backwards she followed up with a chair shot the side of the head and from there it was no way back for the Openweight Champ.
Winner: Kore Violet
Headliner
Tag Team Title Match
Reckless Dollz v The Salavea Twins v La Fracasada
The Dollz and Twins had both picked up wins against the lacklustre Fracasada in recent weeks but this was the first time they had all shared a 5LW ring together. Fracasada though didn’t seem phased by the recent events, setting up their merch tables around the ring. Smith held up some newly printed t-shirts of themselves with the Tag Titles presumptuously photoshopped in their hands which amused yeh crowd. The match got underway and they were swiftly wiped out of way by their counterparts though. The Salavea and the Dollz proved a good test for one another, two well oiled teams with chemistry to boot. The Dollz took an early advantage but were foiled from a possible win when Lauryn Lawson emerged from the back to return the favour for her new found lackeys. After attacking Rowen from behind she pulled the girls to their feet and insisted they make the pin. The Titles were as good as theirs but instead of clinching victory they began an early celebration, hugging one another instead as Lawson screamed blue murder. Eventually they realised the task at hand but it was still easier said than done as an argument ensued over who should make the pin, and take the glory. Lawson couldn’t believe her eyes as all three of the other competitors began climbing to their feet to reignite the fight. Nessa quickly disposed of them both, Carter falling straight for the merchandise table, but was soon outnumbered by the Salavea Twins who wrapped things up with a Burning Hammer followed by a Diving Knee Drop Combo. Rowen tried to get there in time but was moments too late.
Winners: The Salavea Twins (New Tag Team Champions)
Main Event
Undisputed Title Elimination Match
Tiffany Lynn Page v AJ Rivera v Lauryn Lawson v Arley Kirk v Kore Violet
The Cincinnati crowd were on their feet as the Undisputed Title was paraded before the five competitors.
Things got underway and La Fracasada didn’t wait long to come out in support of Lawson for the second time tonight, who between the three of them had Arley Kirk on the brink of defeat. But her blushes were spared when Leati, Rodney and Jacob Salavea appeared from the back and chased them out of there. Leati hit Lawson with a Pop Up Knee Strike, before leaving the ring as Kirk took full advantage in making the three count.
Lauryn Lawson eliminated.
With four remaining they were nicely paired off but not for long as Khloe Bell entered the fray in support of Rivera. Once again Kirk found herself on the wrong end of a two on one beating but after tossing Kore Violet over the ropes she was aided by Lynn Page. Page needed non invitation to renew her rivalry with Bell as Rivera looked to dispose of Kirk on his own. However not all was going to plan. With Bell struggling on the outside Page came to her aid and a Codebreaker later his night was over, much to the surprise of many.
AJ Rivera eliminated.
Kore Violet had spent much of the fight surveying her competitors from the side of the ring, timing her involvements with careful consideration. Lynn Page meanwhile looked down at Bell and Rivera, satisfied with her work but Kirk didn’t have time for sentiment. The AK-95 (Cartwheel cravate driver) was all it took to pit herself within touching distance of the title.
Tiffany Lynn Page eliminated.
Kirk had stole the march on Page but the work was far from over. As she stood up Violet was across the ring from her staring her down. They circled one another momentarily as the crowd grew louder and louder in anticipation. They locked up and at first Kirk, who had seen by far the most action in this match, struggled against the fresher Violet. After five minutes of back and forth Violet fell the ground and grabbed the back of her leg, pulling the Referee in close. She winced and cried in pain as she limped around the ring. It was unclear at first but appeared to be some kind of muscle injury. Kirk came in for a closer inspection, confused to what was going on but was blind sided by a right hook. Kore leapt to her feet, miraculously recovering from said thigh strain to lock on a Russian Legsweep into Ground Octopus Hold. Kirk fought valiantly and etched towards the ropes but Violet held on for what seemed like an eternity until Kirk couldn’t take it any more.
Arley Kirk eliminated.
The crowd were not happy as Violet was handed the title and raised it aloft, a wicked grin across her face. She stood aloft the turnbuckle and yelled out in defiance, unphased at the noise around her, revelling in her achievement as the first ever Five Lakes Wrestling Undisputed Champion!
Winner: Kore Violet (New Undisputed Champion)
