Iida Matsuda v Patti Rose v Lauryn Lawson
A strong display from Matsuda saw her get the pin on Lawson. Patti was gracious in defeat and raised her hand afterwards.
Winner: Iida Matsuda
OPENER: DEBUTANT BATTLE ROYAL
MYSTERY PRIZE FOR THE WINNER
Roni Tyler v Mateo Salavea v Tinsley Nolan v Andrew Garrison v TATER v Dazzling Dynamo v Kelly Hagan v Journeyman Phillips v Jack Rose
It was everyone man and woman for themselves in this chaotic opening contest. TATER quickly eliminated Kelly Hagan, with Jack Rose next to go following a big closeline from Mateo. Dazzling Dynamo was trying to get the better of Roni Tyler but was upended by Andrew Garrison from behind. Meanwhile Tinsley was trying to overthrow Phillips. Mateo came in and helped the veteran over the ropes who hung around on the outside. TATER charged at Mateo who fell against the ropes but Phillips pulled them down as he fell, as ‘The God Amongst Men’ tumbled to the canvas. Rising to his feet he didn’t get chance to avenge himself before he was clattered over the head by a chair shot from the Englishman. Tinsley, who despairingly saw all this going on, was briefly distracted and was tossed next over the ropes by Roni Tyler leaving just three. TATER and Garrison took advantage of Tyler’s back turned, and double teamed her to the outside. With the final two men in the ring it was back and forth for some time until Garrison side stepped an attack to gain full control and there was no way back for the young grappler as Garrison celebrated an impressive win.
Winner: Andrew Garrison
Frank James came out and congratulated Garrison on his win before announcing that next week he would be rewarded with a one on one shot at the Television Title for his efforts. Garrison rubbed his hands together and vowed to take the belt from whoever he faces.
UNDERCARD: FATAL FOUR WAY
NORTH AMERICAN TITLE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER
Callie Renton v Legion v Jay Sinclair v Leati Salavea
Renton and Legion squared off on one side, while Leati and Sinclair went at it on the other. With so many people in the ring it was near impossible for anyone to score a pinfall, as Leati and Sinclair both coming close early on. It was Renton that came up trumps though with The Heiress (Top Rope Corkscrew Stunner) folllowing a chaotic final few minutes. She could barely believe it, but took the time to celebrate with some fans before motioning the belt around the waist.
Winner: Callie Renton (North American Title Number One Contender)
Journeyman Phillips was backstage with Emma Harrington. Emma wanted to know why he attacked Mateo Salavea following their elimination from the Battle Royal. Phillips said everywhere he goes lately he’s hearing about Mateo and his family and it was boring him to tears. He called them all frauds, with limited ability. In his eyes that were 'pretending to be a successful wrestling family to try and get themselves over'. As the head of ‘legitimate and much feared professional wrestling family’ he took offence to that. He said he knew a charlatan when he saw one and the Salavea family was full of them.
MID CARD: SINGLES MATCH
NON-TITLE
HALLOWEEN THEMED HARDCORE MATCH
HALLOWEEN THEMED HARDCORE MATCH
Khloe Bell v Nessa Reckless
Pre-match a number of Halloween themed weapons were randomly placed in and around the ring. Bell came out with a few props of her own including a plastic sythe, some skeleton limbs, and a bloodied axe. Nessa followed with a pumpkin under her arm, flames seeping out of each carved orifice. Things got underway and it soon escalated into a fully blown Halloween style deathmatch. Nessa spat fake blood in the face of Bell, who later retaliated with by smacking her around the ring with the fancy dress props. She climbed out the ring and re-entered with a table and a bucket of goodies she had found. She tipped it out onto the table revealing a mixture of thumb tacks and candy before attempting to suplex her straight through it but Nessa countered with a side slam as Bell’s back and limbs were visibly cut and bruised from the fall. Nessa climbed the turnbuckle, pumpkin in hand, and tried whacking it over the head of Bell as she climbed to her feet, but Bell dodged as the orange pieces splattered everywhere, largely into the faces of the front row fans. She countered with a Superkick and saw things out from there with a Cradle Piledriver onto the tacks for the win. There was some mutual respect at the end for the bloodied war they’d put each other through as Bell picked up her title and wearily exited to her music.
Winner: Khloe Bell
MID CARD: CASKET MATCH
LOSER MUST RETIRE. OR DIE. WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.
Ryan Samuels v Kanaka Mauna
The two adversaries came face to face and sized each other up one final time. Mauna was silent, and emotionless. Samuels meanwhile was jabbering away as usual, trying to get under the big man’s skin. The bell rang and the big right arms started to throw. Samuels didn’t see much point in wasting time and opened up the casket at the earliest opportunity, trying to muscle the big man inside. But Mauna was a hefty bit of stuff and not the easiest to move. A swift recovery put Samuels on the back foot and a Chokeslam later his professional wrestling career was well and truly in jeopardy, as the crowd cheered on the Hawaiian Giant to finish it. But Samuels was made of equally strong stuff and with one leg inside the casket began to fight back. Role’s reversed, and Mauna was later inside the casket, dead and buried, career finished - or so it seemed! Samuels tried bring down the lid but Mauna outstretched his arm to stop him at the last second. Samuels couldn’t believe it as Mauna effectively rose from the dead to grab him by the throat! Samuels tried fighting him off as he clutched the wind pipe of his enemy ready for another Chokeslam but he kicked out just in time before launching a huge Lariat, sending Mauna flying backwards practically into the coffin again. Samuels wasn’t wasting time, he had to get the job done here and picked up his trusty rope to choke the tired Mauna from behind. There was no come back now as Samuels reached over with one arm and pulled the door of the casket down and shut! That was it. Kanaka Mauna’s career was OVER! Samuels sat back and smiled, the crowd jeering. He had finally ended it, before standing up and swinging his rope around in jubilation.
Winner: Ryan Samuels (Kanaka Mauna must retire from professional wrestling)
Andrew Raynes was back stage with Emma Harrington ahead of his Undisputed Title match tonight. He was disappointed in the fans reaction recently when he was challenged by Chelsea LeClair. He had seen some things on social media and wanted to put some things straight. Raynes said he would NEVER back out of a fight, from LeClair or anyone. But in his eyes respect and opportunities should be earned, which he had done, and she had not. Tonight though he’ll go one step further and dethrone Kore Violet. This vampire has sucked the life out of this company too long, he said. It was time for a new era.
MID CARD: TELEVISION TITLE MATCH
Tiffany Lynn Page (c) v Arley Kirk
A first real test for Lynn Page as Kirk was looking for a first taste of gold in Five Lakes Wrestling. Page will manipulate her way out of any situation possible but showed no fear of her reputable opponent, as they came face to face before the bell. A quick and unsuspecting kick to Kirk’s midsection got things off to a lively start as Page showed her experience and nous for getting things done. But Kirk was resilient and patient. Slowly but surely she fought her way back into the match, the crowd roaring her on. Page was desperate to make her tap out, inflicting punishment and hell bent on humiliating her with a submission finish. But it wasn’t to be as Kirk turned things around and stunned everyone with a RipLash (Berkocet) from seemingly nowhere to claim the match and her the belt!
Winner: Arley Kirk (New Television Champion)
UPPER MID CARD: TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
The Salavea Twins (c) v The House of Wolves v the NOVA Empire
All three teams had their moment here as the slick and experienced Salavea Twins linked up nicely as always. The House of Wolves though seemed to knew every trick in the book to stay within the match as Otto and Jessi battled through the chaos to show how far they’d come as a team in just a few short months. The end was just reward for their training and persistence as Kassandra was outnumbered in the ring. Jessi hit her BANGARANG (jumping corkscrew roundhouse kick) which was quickly followed by Otto's THE SHOCK SPLASH (Frog Splash) from the top rope! The crowd roared on as the count was made ONE! TWO! THREE! New champions!
Winners: the NOVA Empire (New Tag Team Champions)
HEADLINER: OPENWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
AJ Rivera (c) v Griffin Hawkins
Rivera came out looking calm and focused as always, the crowd on his back not phasing his demeanour or outlook. A coffin was then wheeled out onto the entrance ramp by some pallbearers who looked solemnly at the ground. Some eerie, sad music began to play as the crowd looked on in confusion before Griffin Hawkins' entrance theme blasted over the speakers. Out jumped the Jukebox Hero, cosmetically pale skinned, a Seinfeld puffy shirt and dressed head to toe like a vampire. The crowd went wild as he made his way to the ring, but Rivera merely snarled, unimpressed by his antics. Unsurprisingly he came out the blocks with some heavy right hands, and at first Griffin didn't know what had hit him but it wasn't long before things began to ebb and flow between these top tier talents. Having tested the waters last time out, they seemed to counter one another well at various points, having done this dance a few times by now. What looked like a probable first defence for Rivera turned badly wrong in the most surprising of ways. With the Referee down he reached for a chair on the outside of the ring to seize the moment, but Hawkins was ready and waiting and seemingly spat a red blood-like substance into his face and eyes. Rivera was blinded and made the most of the opportunity to hit the Seventh Star (Cross Rhodes)!! The Referee stirred just in time to make the count, and see this changing of the guard much to the fans delight.
Winner: Griffin Hawkins (New Openweight Champion)
MAIN EVENT: UNDISPUTED TITLE MATCH
Kore Violet (c) v Andrew Raynes v Chelsea LeClair
A difficult first defence here for Kore who came dressed for the occasion? No that's just her usual attire and face. She seemed quite content in the opening seconds to let LeClair and Raynes settle their dispute but it wasn't long before this menage a trois really got going. Raynes and LeClair looked more than comfortable at this level, two very experienced and decorated wrestlers, as the champion had to dig deep at times to stay in this match. Each wrestler came narrowly close on a number of occasions, particularly LeClair who hit a double "CANCELLED!" (Corkscrew Moonsault) on both competitors at once. That said there could only be one winner, as the crowd looked on to see a vulnerable LeClair climbing to her feet in the centre of the ring at the twenty minute mark. Raynes was on the outside, having been tossed over the ropes moments earlier. Kore connected with a Slingblade from the second turnbuckle and rapidly made the pin as Raynes turned around to see his opportunity fading. He reached into the ring to try and pull her off, but she moved her leg in the nick of the time whilst ensuring LeClair's shoulders remained firmly pinned to the mat. Raynes pounded the canvas, the title having slipped through his fingers on several occasions, but was warmly received for his efforts by the Bloomington crowd. Kore was handed her title and celebrated, confident and largely emotionless, on the top turnbuckle. She shrugged her shoulders as though it was nothing, a business as usual and routine defence, but it had been anything but, as she was pushed all the way by both challengers. Koriand'r, though, had come through, as always, when it mattered, as Fright Night came to an eerie and apt close.
Winner: Kore Violet (Still Undisputed Champion)
